I was hoping gattis ' sharp end of the broken bat would have found its way to pujols heart serving as a stake. It's the only way to get rid of that creature. Another excellent start for mr. Cy young and woooooo the nature boy tearing it up
Not making any point. Just throwing their names out. Wondered if Perez was still with LAA and he's hitting like .077. I'll take one season of Hank for em, though. Best backup C experience we've had since Tony, even if Hank couldn't throw me out.
He is currently a suspect 4th/5th starter, but agree he should pitch. He's young, and can maybe be a serviceable 4/5. His allowance isn't full-season though. Unless he <4.90 ERA's by mid-May (while others continue pitching better), he won't be starting big leagues. Joe is young and still shows hope, don't me wrong. Looking back, he pitched better than I had remembered his previous start.
Aoki struck out vs RH on 3 pitches, 2nd inning. Was that a Haley's Comet type occurrence? Astros postgame radio said team really came together on the road trip. ST was a roller coaster with everything going on.
It would not surprise me too much if Gallo and Gomez stay below Mendoza line as one has been below line for career and the other may get cut before he gets chance to get above it. Lucroy I expect to rebound, but wouldn't surprise me if he's done as a good player. Napoli should get above line, but not by much. They've got a lot of suck tied together with duct tape. Granted, duct tape has helped them before.
In the past they have been pretty good about putting the ball in play, but Gomez/Gallo/Napoli are K machines. They need Beltre back too.
I take much joy in Beltre being on the sidelines. He really is their whole team maybe not always by the stat sheets but in the clubhouse he is just that veteran presence that ever clubhouse needs. As an Astros fan, I can't wait until he retires or his body finally fails him. This will be his 20th season as a pro.
