Utah has the right ingredients, they just don't quite seem to get over that wall. They could do so here, but I still say the Clippers (blaaaaarf!) in 6. Maybe 7, but I voted 6.
I think the playoff performance of Utah juxtaposed with other suitors like the Celtics and Rockets will play a huge factor. Yes, the Jazz can offer more money. But what if Hayward fears that he'll be relegated to playing for a middle-of-the-road, 2nd tier contender. Especially with so much uncertainty surrounding the team a year from now. Check out their list of free agents in 2018. Anyone not named Gobert or Hayward will be looking for a new contract. And Salt Lake City ain't exactly the most enticing place for NBA players. Meanwhile Boston is already the #1 seed in the East this season before they use their capspace this summer to potentially add a quality free agent. And they've got a high draft pick(possibly #1) heading their way. Whatever money Hayward loses due to the CBA, he can more than make up for in endorsements once he's playing for a perennial contender in the Celtics who also happen to be one of the premiere franchises in the NBA.
I gotta vote for Jazz, but I ain't gonna cheer for them. the Stockton, Malone, Jerry Sloan experience is still to fresh in my mind. In my family we don't hold hands, we hold grudges
Clippers in 7, I hope Jazz win and would be nice if it's a long series since they are evenly matched. The Jazz losing home court is huge, if they had been the 4th seed I would've picked them in 7.
I know this is blasphemous, but I am rooting Jazz. I have enjoyed watching them this year, and they are really good defensively! Oh and I hate the ****ing clippers! jazz in 7.
Wow... even if you dislike a team, you have to feel for a team when its star player gets hurt the first minute of the playoffs. That is brutal... Hope he's alright.
dafuq this was supposed one of the best series, now Gobert out on the first damn play. Had to be carried off to the locker room.
And is that all she wrote for the Jazz?? Both this series and the offseason. All theirnpositive momentum goes bye bye if Gobert has torn something.
