Growing up, I suppose I always assumed that teams like the Cubs and Red Sox would hold up the "cursed" mantle forever, and no po-dunk franchise from Texas would ever have enough cache or history to be considered up there with them. Now? the Astros and Rangers are right in the cross-hairs of being the next "it" team in terms of having a tortured fan base and a painful history. Also, the above graphic is a bit mis-leading, since the Ranger played in DC for their first 10 years of existence. That should be reflected in the "tortured fan base" metric, as Arlington has a good 10+ years less of watching MLB baseball.
We won't be in that pantheon because we don't make up a bunch of idiotic and lame excuses for why it took us 100+ years to win. Also, it won't take us nearly as long as this will end much sooner than later. As for the rangers, who gives a f***. Happy Opening Day, y'all!
So excited right now. I'm going to my first opening day ever. I just got some lower level tickets off stubhub for $70
looking forward to this season...A lot of expectations that if the pitching is consistent, should go deep into the playoffs...
That is basically the exact lineup I hoped to have against a righty. I think the only difference I had was Gurriel and McCann switched. Glad Aoki is hitting 9th to act as a table setter for that top 4. Love that lineup.
Its like answering the door, and Scarlett Johannson is standing there. I swear they were talking about Houston Astros baseball...
