They aren't necessarily bad shots for him because he can make them.

    He's shooting 40.5% from 3 and has a TS% of nearly 55%.

    1. The Rockets played an double OT game in preseason, how often you will see any team will play a double OT game in the preseason?

    2. The Texans also was undefeated in the preseason this year.

Texans, for good or for bad, are also leading their division over a third of the way through the season.

It would be surprising to me if any other team played their "Starters" for the amount of minutes D'Antoni played his and I get the reason for it, but guys like Harden do not need to be playing this quantity of minutes even if it was Harden's choice to. No post defender besides Capella and maybe Harrell. No Beverly for few weeks so the permiter is going to suffer. Also, for those of you who think Harden has turned the corner on playing Defense, guess again. Especially, with him taking over as PG("facilitator") role and even Ariza looks to have lost a step. They will be horrible on defense, but they have gotten much better on offense just from the free agents they bought in besides D' Antoni's syle of play. I'm really looking forward to this year than years past just because the scoring is going to be off the charts. No more dribble dribblle

    More interesting in that graphic...

Jeremy Lin leaves CHA and they drop to bottom offense in the league.

    Coincidence?

The stats are per 100 possession so are pace adjusted as well as adj for OTs

The offense was good but their 3 point shooting percentage was one of the worst in the league last year, which I think contributed a lot to their inability to defend in transition. If they can shore up their perimeter game and make at least 37%-40% of their 3's, then maybe I can see this team finish in the top 3 in the west.

Current Top 5 in Net Rtg

    1 Warriors
    2 Spurs
    3 HOUSTON ROCKETS!
    4 Jazz
    5 Raptors

#2 in Off Rtg (112.3) just a frog's hair behind the Warriors (112.9). Not much daylight between them. And interestingly, nearly identical also in REB%, TOV%, EFG%, TS% and PACE.

Top Half, #15 in Def Rtg (105.7), but there isn't much spread between #15 and the bottom top 10. Like #9 is (105.0)

All in all, looking pretty good. I've always felt if you can be the the Top 3 to 5 in Net Rtg, then you have a chance to contend. Look at all the teams that went to the Finals in the past years and nearly all are in the Net Rtg Top 5.

o_O112.9 is a better Off Rtg than 112.3

Did you have it sorted by Off Rtg?

Edit: you listed 112.3 by Warriors, should be flipped

We, the Houston Rockets are getting pumped off the regular season sitting pretty with the 3rd best record in the NBA while your Dallas Mavericks have been so gassed that they are stinking up the joint with that pitiful record.

Using my eyeballs as stats (ha ha), I was impressed by our defense late in the last game. We turned it up a notch and it was definitely a key to the win, in my opinion. Really liked Harden's effort late, in particular. It's encouraging. Not just Harden, but the team's effort defensively. Remember, it's my eyeballs, not my other ones. I save those for "testing" the cheerleaders. In case anyone is interested (and no one should really be interested!), they tell me that our cheerleaders are damned good at what they do.

I kinda like our end of season schedule having to play potential playoff opponents multiple times. Those will be good tests helping us prepare for the playoff. Some of yall still worry about us not getting the 3rd. Here is my take - if we lose more than 6 in the next 11, and slide to 4th or 5th, we have a bigger problem than not securing a better seed obviously. So sit back and enjoy the last stretch of those games. As to the stats, yawn, we played Denver twice in the 6 game stretch.

the only significant games i really see is the two games against GS and those will both be without KD. maybe portland only because they're playing hard for their last spot as an 8th seed

The Clippers one. They are not giving up either. And the Pels gave us fight in the last meeting. How about the OKC one, them and the clippers are potential first round opponents. I really like this last stretch to find out what we are.
