I doubt O'Brien is leaking to Jayson Braddock of all people. O'Brien really dislikes him. And they'll probably use the extra room to get Romo and extend Clowney/Hopkins.
Its a numbers game, which is we can't keep throwing away high picks like this O'Brien has been tossing our picks like crazy since he got here. Gonna hurt bad long term
O'Brien has been leaking to the media since he got here. McNair has said multiple times he doesn't like the leaks
I've never really heard that. Most people have said Rick leaks a lot because of how he stabbed Kubiak in the back. And even if you think O'Brien leaks........he sure as hell doesn't leak to Braddock. Braddock gets his info from elsewhere.
Like crazy? A bit of hyperbole. They've traded up for guys like Nix, Strong, Fuller, McKinney, and Martin but they haven't given up that much to do it. And they always clean up in UDFA. And this year they have a 1, a 2, a 3, two 4's, a 5, and a 7. And next year they have a 1,3,4,5,6,7, and will very likely get a 3rd for Bouye plus a 6th for Simon/Demps.
I heard the Andre Ware interview on 610. He said Brock is the type of player that needs to be coddled and reassured by his coach and not the tough love/being yelled at type coaching. Said OB and Brock personalities did not mesh. So maybe there is something with Brock not getting along or not meshing with the people there. At least not with OB.
People complaining about the Texans losing a 2nd round pick to create cap $10MM in cap space; meanwhile the Patriots just giving them away for players that can help them now
Considering the inactivity of the Texans' FO since this deal, have to wonder if this extra cap is largely to get Nuk re-upped
Google "Obrien confrontations Brock" and you will find multiple articles from October through January about blowups between Osweiler and OBrien, including one that sourced players after a players only meeting. I don't think he was a lockeroom problem specifically, but I definitely think based on those articles that it was impossible for him and OBrien to get along at this point and that does wear on a locker room. As to the cap space, even if they don't spend it this year, it rolls over and we have extra space next year.
It COULD lower his cap hit this year, or they could take the hit up front so they don't have ballooning salaries in the future.
This is funny cause in a post practice press interview or maybe it was just after the signing , this twat said he liked the hard nose coaching and that he needed the motivational yelling. What a vag.
O'Brien has had multiple blow ups with people. And lol at the capspace next year. We were gonna cut Brock next year so he would only hit $6 mil on the cap next year. The $10 mil benefit is for this year only (plus we won't have to take the $6 mil hit either)
Right he seems to have a temper problem. That doesn't change the point. Wrong. If we don't spend the $10 million this year (which we probably will) then it gets added on top of the cap space next year as a credit. So in addition to the space we already gain next year for Osweiler coming off the books, we'll get an additional $10 million. So hypothetically if we don't spend the $10 million this year, we'd get $19 million added to next year's cap: ($10 million carry over plus $9 million dead money goes away)
