Is it THAT shocking? I'd be more surprised if O'Brien didn't have confrontations with him.

I think that's why they sailed under everyone's radar; I heard about them but... BOB seems like the kind of coach who has confrontations with EVERYBODY. Ask Brian T. Smith. For me, it registered as a shrug and "tell me something I don't know...."

BOB is known for having a massive ego and being confrontational.

If Brock isn't the right type of personality, it was never going to work.

The fact that Brock and BOB never met prior to the signing, and there is such a personality difference leads me to believe that Brock was either a McNair or Smith fueled move. I am not absolving BOB, as he could have fought harder against the signing if he had an issue with it.

Or maybe the coach shouldn't be so difficult to work with.

To a T... the NFL is so far behind on this stuff it's hilarious, even as it pertains to play-calling. i've mentioned it on here before.

ClutchFans: Schaub is broken. No way he can still be on this team. All the other teams know it so no way someone is going to trade for him. Fire Rick Smith
    Rick Smith: Hold my beer

ClutchFans: Texans have TJ Yates and are about to release him. Too bad the Texans couldn't get something for him. Fire Rick Smith!
    Rick Smith: Hold my beer

ClutchFans: The Texans just signed Hoyer. Fitzpatrick is gone and the whole league knows it. Too bad the Texans can't trade him. Fire Rick Smith
    Rick Smith: Hold my beer

ClutchFans: The Texans can't do anything with Brock. He is done in Houston and everyone knows it. That contract of his makes him virtually untradable. We're stuck with him or we cut him and eat up that contract and cap space. Fire Rick Smith!

If you're like me, it was just because you were so BORED with the season that you didn't bother reading much about it.

I think this is it. I normally gobble up news stories about my team but I don't think I read much about them at all this year

Why is Rick holding & so many beers? Texans may have to fire him like the Redskins did their GM. ;)

now the local talk is that it was Cleveland who called Rick smith.
If Rick is this social climber, like the talented mr. ripley, that rick is accused of being with the mcnair family, then why isn't plausible that Rick schemed his way to the new nerd in cleveland's front office and seduced him with picks. I believe it was Kevin Martin who said of Morley, "He loves his picks."
our 4th rounder from them will be a greater player than that 2nd rounder. calling the shot now for the free agency 2022 thread.

Maybe if he wasn't drinking so many damn beers, he wouldn't have gotten himself into those situations in the first place

Because he would have done it before he lost Demps and (especially) Bouye. There's never been a trade like this in NFL history and there's never been a front office like Cleveland's in NFL history. Not a coincidence.

Yeah Brock might have cost him a lot of money too. Super classy.
