We are also the hosts of our group, so I'll definitely be going to the games.
Time to start speculating what Orlando can get for Oladipo and Harkless. Payton, Hezonja, Gordon is Orlando's perimeter of the present/future and they are gonna be nasty nasty. I wanted to trade up for Hezonja so badly.
Why would they move Oladipo? He strikes me as better suited for the 2 anyway. Payton, Oladipo, Henzonja, Gordon, Vucevik Super young so the wins wont' come like they should for a bit, but bright future...
Wow this kid has some stuff! I'm kind of an instant fan now! And playing with a Rajun Cajun, Oladipo, and that tree Vuvevic? As an NBA fan, I like this team.
They're bringing back Harris. Gordon is breaking out right now. I think Gordon winds up at the 3 and Harris at 4 with Vuks in the middle. That leaves your backcourt of Payton, and either Oladipo or Hezonja. Now, they won't move Hezonja in past Oladipo right now. Because they have to preserve Oladipo's trade value and if they bench Oladipo for Hezonja his trade value goes kaput. But........Hezonja is the superior player to Oladipo. And always will be. We'll look back on it in 7 years and it won't even be close. So in my opinion, Orlando is best-served to trade Oladipo before his trade value erodes. EDIT: And as an aside I'd gladly do a Terrence Jones for Mo Harkless flip. And in fact I'd take Oladipo in the right trade too. Maybe McDaniels re-signed and our 2016 first rounder??? Oladipo could be the chip that lands us a legit big time point guard. Or he may just fit at the point for us with Harden. You never know.
Maybe. And I admittedly don't watch Magic all the time. So Hezonja is can be a SG? And Gordon is more SF than PF? I'll say this, Hezonja's cockiness is cool, and he's had an interesting first two games.. But we've seen that happen in summer league before. Like the dude the Rockets traded for Ron Artest... Can't even remember his name right now... Ha. But I think he'll be good. Obviously you want depth, but also need to balance the lineup. I think Harris is too much of a tweener. But I guess you could have said the same about Draymond Green too. Interesting squad. If Payton learns to shoot they could be really good in 2-3 years.
I'm pretty sure Elfrid learned to play from Gary. He's right out of the same mold. Nasty defensively. Can handle. Can pass. Definitely finish. Won't be a great shooter. But tough as nails. Hezonja is a mismatch on the wing. Doesn't matter if he's at 2 or 3. Gordon is the hardest read. He's breaking out offensively right now. Don't know what he'll be defensively. Can't see him being effective defensively at the 4 unless the opponent goes small/spread. Not for sure how good he'll be defensively at the 3. I am convinced Payton, Hezonja, and Gordon are Orlando's core.
Unless there is a glaring hole you don't trade good young talent in cheap contracts. Orlando has the lineup flexibility to go big or small throwing multiple athletes at you for 48 minutes. Add some discipline to that team and they could have something. Will see if Skiles has grown as a coach and can strike the right balance of a running attack with ball control. Hopefully he also now understands the NBA is not about traditional positions for players anymore and just rolls with whoever his five best are on a nightly basis.
That dunk...any better defender would've stole that ball once he carried it to his left side just before dunk. Just sayin. Spoiler And yeah, I have to be the biggets HOH on this board, 'cause he has nothing special...another Gallinari in best case scenario
I know this is an old post, but I will say that I agree with point #3. LaVine's dunks were meh. I mean, the first one was sick! And then after that we saw the same dunk 3 more times.
How do you know? Dekker haven't even played yet.. I'm not going to assume after a few highlights that he will be better than Dekker..
