Pelicans just got Cousins for literally nothing. It was a damn highway robbery. God damn Morey could've offered anything and be better than what Kings got.
This probably means that we weren't all that interested in Cousins. Maybe all the Kentucky action down there makes NO think they have a better shot a Cousins resigning. The Rockets could've easily topped that offer but didn't. That speaks volumes of their opinion on Cousins.
Rockets will make their moves to shore up some spots and make us deeper... Pipe dream would be to move Anderson and Ariza. And hopefully capela and Dekker as well... but ofcourse for good pieces that fit better and play more consistent in helping us win nowwww
Cousins traded for garbage package while Rockets stand pat!?!?!? I'm with ABS, do something Morey!!!! JK, obvious that DMC must have demanded to go to Pelicans while being adamant about re-signing nowhere else. Kings got ****ed hard, Pelicans just pulled a Harden/OKC deal.
at least pelicans FO is doing something before trade deadline. They inquired for both PG and DMC. Meanwhile, Morey wants to sign stars in FA which will be extremely hard to do now because of the new CBA. There is literally no reason for a star to leave a team unless he can get a very high chance of winning chip while giving up 30-40mil.
A absolute trade that needs to happen There 2 vets that play for the suns who can help the rockets starters get rest, and play with gordon Nene on the 2nd unit. Im talking about Jared Dudley and Lendro Barbosa. Dont know why these players are trying to retire as suns now because they played most of there early career for that team, and now in there final last years they are playing there and not trying to win a championship now. Houston should see if they could get them on a rental, and promise to send them back to phoenix next year or 2 in a trade. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h4uqme6 At least make this trade.
Hield is a top 5 pick, and the Pelicans pick is going to be around #10. That's two top 10 picks in an allegedly STRONG draft. And they also got the #35 pick as cherry on top. Plus they got a $10m expiring contract (our biggest expiring contract is KJ @ $3m). Our entire roster minus James Harden couldn't get us that package. We had no chance. If you were being sarcastic my bad.
Maybe I'm being thick here, but why does that matter? Kings didn't trade any picks in this deal, NOLA did. Sixers are picking higher than Kings in 1st and 2nd round, I think the swap is useless at this point.
It doesnt affect any of the stuff NO sent them how does that affect the trade package they got? Hield and ths top 10 pick are two high first rounders+expiring+1 more pick. How does Rox offer more than that? KJ and Brewer? LOL
Very active trade deadline so far. Still think we should watch Blake Griffin. Obviously unlikely, but Griffin is a "low key" free agent star this summer, and if LAC stays in 4th and gets beat 4-0 vs GSW in the second round, very possible both Griffin and CP3 walk.
Exactly. Let's lay it out. We could maybe trade Harrell, Ariza and Beverley for Minny's #6 pick. Then we could trade Dekker, #27, #45 maybe for Charlotte's #12. Now we have #6 and #12, which is not as good as Hield and #10 but let's assume it's not different. We have to come up with the salaries now. They only want young guys and expiring and we don't have those. ****, back to the drawing board. Now we need to trade Capela, Ariza and Brewer for an expiring. Then we attach that expiring contract and maybe a filler + #6 + #12... Oh wait, the Pels are ALSO offering a #35 pick. Back to the drawing board. We trade our #40 and KJ for Philly's #35 and a contract they don't like. Yes I know they wouldn't, but let's just assume they feel like helping us that day. NOW we're ready. We send #6 + #12 + #35 + the expiring we acquired for Cousins. Yaaayy!! We win!! Oh wait. We have to sign KJ's mom to a 10-day contract to come off the bench and backup our new starting SF, KJ McDaniels. And Bobby Brown and Tyler Ennis are our backup guards. And Wiltjer is our backup PF. And Nene has to play back to backs. And the Pelicans still have the better offer. lol I don't know what people are thinking honestly. What confuses me most is that the posters who are saying Morey should have acquired Cousins are generally the same ones who say our players are trash. I don't understand how they rationalize these 2 things.
And we would have to do all of that for a guy who has had locker room issues and could disrupt the chemistry of the team or may not fit in here, not to mention the fact that he could just out right bail on us a year from now. Yeah, no thanks.
