Well I just scanned Ben Shapiro's wikipedia page for scumbag things. Harvard Law, married with kids, then I saw Othodox Jew and that must be why Comets Win hates him. I can only guess as no response from him.
It's apparently the only way to keep you honest. You have a habit of just running off at the mouth in a rage without any knowledge about what you're talking about.
There was not thing gentlemanly about the bet in the first place. It trivializes the tragedy that occurred, IMO. Personally, I think it's a good thing the bet is off, regardless of who would have won.
These rioters gave milo even a bigger platform. Now he can be heard by millions of people. https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=https://www.facebook.com/myiannopoulos/videos/835411489930081/&show_text=0&width=560
Ultimately you are right, that the tragedy isn't appropriate fodder for a bet. However, if one is tasteless enough to enter into it, it should be conducted with the best spirit and sportsmanship possible.
One doesn't go to a casino for supposedly "gentlemanly" bet. You weaseled out of the bet. People can judge differently than I have, but I the occasion and how you handled it says all I need to know.
This falls under the same logic as hillary winning the popular vote. At what point does honor no longer matter? 2 mins? 10 mins? 100? 10 years? The honorable thing would be to accept the terms were not met. Even if it was 1 millisecond.
technicalities aren't the honorable thing. He could also admit he was wrong, or be gracious about being wrong in what he claimed, and say that he was grateful that the bet wasn't made in the time limit. At least the spirit of the bet would be acknowledged. I put a good deal of stock in the honor with which people carry themselves. Whether I agree with people or not, they can still have honor. I've seen all I need from RL. I understand that others may not hold honor with the same esteem that I do, and if they are okay with that, then that's fine for them.
There was no technicality. 10 mins is not the same as 10 mins and 1 second, much less 10 mins and 60 seconds. Ask any Olympic competitor or a veteran on the battlefield. 1 second matters. I'll say it again; The honorable thing would be for the loser to accept he missed it by 1 min, not rehash it out in a completely different thread. FB, you dont have to agree with RL in politics, but at least acknowledge that he's well within his agreement and its Scarface who is being unsportsmanlike by not letting it go.
Damn these riots are getting kind of ****ed up. A driver got pulled out of a car and beaten is what I just read on twitter from the Berkeley PD
I posted a more honorable and gentlemanly way to handle the bet that didn't include abiding by the terms. All he had to do was acknowledge that he was wrong and would have lost the bet, had it been taken only one minute sooner. It is far more graceful, and honorable way of dealing with it. The conduct I find important to me, doesn't have to be important to you. You are entitled to your own code.
Back on topic, I agree that violence is never an acceptable means of protest. What a shame that folks took it the violent extreme.
It's just what you get when there is a large group of people too stupid to intelligently debate issues, they get angry and light things on fire instead.....I mean, at least they aren't flinging their feces.....probably. You just have to expect that level of thought from the left, and to be fair from the extreme right as well, they are effectively the same.
