This is the story for some of his movies the last few years. I've been a Tom Hardy fanboy for a while and sometimes I think he should slow down and be more selective. He's an incredibly versatile talent who clearly loves the art of acting, staying busy and trying different things. More power to him. I just hope Taboo isn't another example of wasting a solid to great performance on material that ain't all that. The first two episodes were good enough to keep my interest but I have a feeling this show will fall flat. We'll see.
I kind of feel like if they gave him more complimentary actors to play off of and not make him the focal point like they seem to be doing in Taboo then they would have a hit. Tom Hardy is undoubtedly a compelling actor. It's more exciting to see him opposite another one.
This. I haven't seen him in a bad movie with another top billing actor. Revenant. Inception. I even enjoyed him in that chick flick movie with Chris Pine.
Complimentary? Jonathon Pryce is pretty well known outside of America across the pond. Really digging the show, just got the newest episode off of eztv.
Hardy is good but the dreariness and slow pacing of the shows atmosphere is taking me out of it. I feel like something big is about to happen but I hope it happens before I lose interest
Really, I actually thought it was a faster paced episode last night. I do agree that it feels like it's building up to something here soon.
Agreed. I didn't realize this was a mini series as opposed to being a multi season series production. Things should start popping off soon.
Anyone still watching this? I understand it's not for everyone but I'm liking the setting and the slow build. The chemist has some good lines.
Still on board here. I kind of liked how we've strayed away from the supernatural mystique of Hardy's character. I feel like they're doing that on purpose so that they can set us up with a WTF moment pretty soon..
I don't know why I'm still watching. It's not good. But it isn't bad. Y'all are crazy to call it good.
I gotta watch the last episode, its sitting on my dvr and I'm just waiting until I have a full uninterrupted hour to watch it because I've accepted it for what it is and now I'm really into it and don't want to miss any details. Tom Hardy is really good, he's keeping me in this
I am still watching. I want to complete it. It is not the greatest . . . .but i have to say my expectations were different than the actual story so After recovering from that it is still just . . . ok I feel like I am missing something . . .something that should be obvious at this point I think they would do better to address some of the supernatural aspects cause right now they seem like a big ole red herring and a waste of time Rocket River
