He has been shutdown type corner no doubt and while he isn't always covering the best WR, there have been spots in which he has and has impressed just as much.
can't wait to see the Texans next season post Brock's Rookie Season...with both Watt,Clowney,Johnson fully loaded and hopefully injury free...they got way too many injuries going on right now but the potential for a huge upside. Bunch of rookie's playing their 1st year in the NFL on the offensive side of the ball is what I see going on this year wet behind the ears
He had high PFF grade, but Rivers was definitely picking on him. He also had 3 flags early, and the TD he gave up would have been a goal line PI if it weren't caught.
basically just give him joseph's contract. with wilfork done and no other major resignings on defense that should actually result in a little extra cap room, even keeping cushing which i think is a no-brainer, although i would like to move him back to OLB. This assuming he's not considering retirement too. ideally I would like to see them line up like so: ----------------Hal----------Jackson-------------- -Johnson---------------------------------Bouye-- ------Mercilus-McKinney-Draftee-Cushing-- ---------Clowney-Reader-Watt----------------- Reader really came in strong this year so he should be able to replace VW. Clowney and Watt healthy together for once. Cushing back to OLB where his physicality and style make more sense, especially with declining range. Johnson and Bouye two young, extremely athletic cover guys might be the best duo in Texans history. Jackson to SS where his speed isn't such a glaring issue but his physicality and open field tackling will shine. Hal, Moore, Pleasant I guess rotation at FS should do fine again but the big need is probably a middle-round LBer or LB/S hybrid who can cover RBs and TEs especially better than McKinney and Cushing. Probably not much extra cap especially with the albatross at QB but at least the draft can focus in on getting OL and offensive skill players.
if we keep bouye, can we still keep the rookie corner who got hurt? That'll be 4 corners on the roster.
yeah, see that dude hardly ever on the field, he easily can be mistaken as a rookie lol... no way we can afford, joseph, Jackson, Johnson and bouye
If he restructures, Joseph will likely be back. And if Jackson transitions to safety that will actually put the team in the market for a new slot corner.
I wouldnt mind if either JJo or KJax converted to safety. They are getting slower and we are kind of lacking back there as is. I dont expect Demps and Moore to have as good of a season as they did this year. Cant wait to see how bad Bouye wants to be in Houston when big money starts buzzing around his eyes. Slot corner? Whats Brandon Harris up to these days? I keed....
