Aggressive PG, role player players without egos with Melo hurt, inflated system with MDA, insufficient scouting, NY media, and very low expectations mixed together for the perfect storm.
Nobody planned for him game in and game out because they thought they could take him on without any preparation. He won't be much in this league because it's already too late as it is. Good man off the bench sometimes but that's it.
But what about the saga? The one about how he was knocked down again and again and disrespected but showed patience and humility and then he climbed to his feet and open heartedly went to a team that would accept him for who he is and then that team would win more games than anyone thought and without Lin even hinting it the stats legends of the NBA would point to Lin and say he is having both a tangible and intangible effect that is elevating the whole team to heights no one ever expected and then there would be whispers around the league about how he is in fact the most underrated PG in the history of the game and his career's circumstances were what made him such a hidden gem and perhaps racism is what made everyone ignore the flashes.. nay, THUNDER LIGHTNING of potential during Linsanity and now with a front office and coach who are both adept at stats but also have a heart, they are assembling of players who will go all the way without the superstar model but instead with a team full of.. Anyways, that's Harden's saga. But it's funny you can tell that's what many Lin fans are thinking. I'm not talking about posters who are just fans who see him as a good player, I'm talking about the rare fan that thinks he is some miraculous player who never got a chance.
