That's about how I feel. I think we'll score something like 14-24, but I think we'll have a hard time keeping them under 31. Hopefully the defense will be crazy motivated by all the negativity.
You know what would guarantee us getting curb stomped? The same conservative, predictable offense that OB has rolled with all season. There is no reason why we should continue with the game plans we have had...it's time to take risks, even if it means INTs. Open up the playbook and try to get large chunks of yards. There is no reason not to, at this point. We might still get stomped, but at least there is a chance that it throws the Patriots off guard and we can actually stay competitive.
Exactly. No point to even be conservative. We literally have nothing to lose. Backs against the wall, throw caution to the wind.
Surely, history suggest a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Patriots. Still, I hold-out a small hope for the Texans D to put it to the Pat's if the Texans offense can put some drives together. BoB will need to make that happen.
Also, when they opened things up against the Raiders (the few times), it ended well. They might as well go all out and see if they can get in the end zone enough times to keep it close.
Downfield passing, Lamar to the outside, aggressive play calling on offense and defense... all or nothing Texans we're playing the best team in the league.
They won't forfeit the game like that so quickly. It'll be at least halftime before they'd even entertain the idea of going with the savior that has never thrown for a TD in his career.
Don't forget Savage's zero INTs too. This season at least. Anticipating QBs being yanked 1st Q or halftime..... we have zero QBs.
Yeah, so basically you might as well run the ball on every down because that's what you'll get. Basically in this one, you can't expect the defense to shut out the Pats, and going with a QB like Savage who will not move the ball down the field but won't make mistakes, you'd need a shutout or near shutout to win. There are games where that's what you need, this isn't one of them. You've gotta gamble with the guy who can actually move the ball down the field but who might throw picks. It's pretty much the only chance you have.
One QB has shown an ability to get into the end zone, the other has shown that he's not really up for that task....but he'll be safe with the ball. While neither QB is what you really want, there's only one that gives you any kind of chance against a high scoring team.
I just wanna see the Texans have another game of mistake free football and DJ Reader be an X Factor in this game then see what happens
Yeah, that 8 quarters or so of football Savage played this year defined him as totally inept at "getting into the end zone".
