What does it mean that we're a tomato can? Here's my prediction: Brady gets his ankle broken in the first quarter by Mercilus. Jimmy G comes in and gets concussed by Clowney in the second. Jacoby Brissett lasts three plays before he hurts his shoulder. Edelman comes in and suffers a knee injury, leaving Gronk to play QB. Texans win 45 -13. Seriously, I hope with all the mess being talked by the media this defense comes out headhunting. So what if we take a few low cheap shots at Brady, and it costs us 15 yards. What are they going to do, cancel the game?
Well the talking heads in the media can say what they want but take a look a this article about Tom Brady's take on the upcoming game. Doesn't sound like he's drinking the same koolaid: Tom Brady insists Texans are 'a really good team' with a 'damn good defense' NFL Bob HilleOmnisport Updated at 3:22 p.m. ET Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is invested in his team's mindset before its AFC divisional playoff game Saturday against a Texans team that New England 1) has beaten five straight, 2) outscored 171-79 in the process and 3) is favored by two touchdowns to defeat. Maybe that's why Brady on Monday leaned on an old stock-market adage while appearing on WEEI's "Kirk & Callahan" show: Past performance is no guarantee of future return. “This is a day-to-day league. It really doesn’t matter last time we played them or last year because things change so much with the game and a game plan and players. Coach [Bill] Belichick talks about all the time, it’s not who you play, it’s how you play. We need to play well. "When you look at games like earlier in the season against them, we played well. We shut them out. We did a lot of things that are winning football. We talked about that over the course of the whole season, but none of that stuff really matters if we don’t do that this week. You put together the process and the winning formula and you need to go out an execute it. If you don’t execute it, you lose. “I don’t think you take anything for granted. I don’t think you mail in your preparation. I think we go about it the exact same way we’ve gone about it all year. We put everything into it this week. We empty the tank in our practices, which we always do, and then you come out at the end of the week with confidence, ready to go out there and show everyone that we are prepared and that we can play. “We’re playing a really good team. We are playing a team that has earned this opportunity. They have the No. 1 defense in the league [in yards allowed]. I studied them all day yesterday. They have a damn good defense.” Brady said he watched that Texans defense dominate the Raiders this weekend and noted that not only was defensive end Jadeveon Clowney great at putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks but also that there are more playmakers for Houston — put in good positions by coaches with connections to the Patriots: head coach Bill O'Brien, defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel and linebackers coach Mike Vrabel. “[Whitney Mercilus] is a damn good player. They have two very good linebackers and then they have one of the best secondaries that we’ll face in terms of coverage corners. They have three guys who can cover. … "They have a lot of great coaches, similar to what we got, to put their really good players in a position to play well to do some really challenging things schematically on defense. They play very sound and that is why they are the No. 1 defense in the league. There’s nothing easy about this game for our offense. We’re going to have to grind it out. We have to get our mind right and we will. We had a good week of practice last week and we need to carry it over to today, all the way through Saturday night.”
Texans need to be play aggressive on all 3 sides of the ball. That's the only chance they have. At the end of the day, Patriots will still feast. 35-10.
No turnovers. Expect slant passes from brady. Get to edelman and amendola quick.they dont do the long plays but only enough to get the first down. I think we win if we get 2 plus turnovers.
LOL with this conservative play calling we would be lucky to have more than 7 points when the game is over
Will have to see if Big Ben is injured or not or how it affects his play. That aside, I know many Pats fans were hoping that they'd be playing Miami next week, since that'd mean Miami got lucky and took out the Steelers. Instead, the Steelers look like legitimate competition. Either way, it would be a HUGE HUGE HUGE upset if the Texans beat the Pats. Not in the biggest ever realm, but huge.
Pats just going through the motions. B'OB will psych himself out trying to psych out Belichick. The jedi master still owns his padawan. Sorry but this will be a destruction derby. And yes, the Texans are the poor 1970s junkyard cars being steamrolled by the big monster trucks.
Just can't see the Texans beating the Patriots. Texans 13 Patriots 24 Do not think the defense is good enough to stop Brady and the offense is not capable leading this team.
I certainly don't. Muffed against NE in Week 3, two muffs on Saturday. What do you have to be confident about?
I think the Texans will score about 20 points, but unfortunately I can't see them stopping Brady from putting up 30. I'm still holding out hope that they can pull it off though.
Texans gonna make the whole country say "WTF, how are they doing this with Brock?!?" right to the Super Bowl.
