Yeah....for about a half before the incompetence of the O line has him out for the season. You can't have an old, made of glass, QB behind a weak O line. It simply doesn't work like that. You'd just be throwing money away by signing Romo.

The Texans just won the AFC South with the worst QB in the division no matter who you pick as the Texans QB.....but keep telling yourself that QB is all that matters.

Also, the line about best QB's marching towards a championship while "mediocre" QB's go home is hilarious if you took even a quick glance at who the best QB's are and who is in the playoffs.

Drew Brees is arguably the best QB in the NFL in that he led the league in passing yet again throwing for the 4th most yards in NFL history......and his team is sitting at home.

In fact, if you look at the top 10 QB's in passing yards this season, half of them are on non-playoff teams.

Of course, why look at yards when you can look at QB rating right? Oh wait, still half of the top 10 QB's are on non-playoff teams even arranged by that metric.

The Texans are built to win with defense and the run game, a method that is tried and true.....and they managed to easily win their division even with a ridiculous number of key injuries. It's something that works. Hell the Broncos won the Super Bowl using that method with absolutely awful QB performance just last year.

Why do I keep having to spell this out?

No, you don't....as evidenced by the Broncos last year and the Seahawks a few years before that, and the first Steelers championship with the rapist. All of those are examples of defense and the run game winning despite mediocre QB performance. Take the QB on those teams and replace them with just about anyone who has been a QB in the NFL and you get just about the same result. Hell the Seahawks could have gone without a QB entirely and won that SB easily.

The problem the Texans are facing is that when you want to win with defense and the run game, you can't be missing multiple defensive starters and multiple O line starters. The Texans have enough talent to where they still made the playoffs and easily won their division anyway, but it was a huge disadvantage.

Texans still need to find a mediocre QB first.

Fix the O line and that'll be a LOT easier. Hell, we might have 2 of those mediocre QB's now if they were behind a competent O line. Look at Dallas, they can afford to stick just anyone at QB because that O line is so good.

Not true, they stuck Cassel behind that O-Line and he sucked ass.

    Like you said result matters.

The result is, as bad as Manning was in his last season, he was still a better choice than the QB that we decided to sign and based on the result that they had won the SB, that matters.

When this franchise still went after a QB whose inferior than the worse winning SB QB in the history of the league and the result now can't be more clear, I don't think anyone should just STFU for any other options than just stay put.

    Really?

Where is your prediction of the Cowboys will have home field through out the playoff or even getting into the playoff this year before the season started?

Of course Dallas has a good O line but you actually want to compare theit 4th round jackpot QB to the sorry ass QBs of the Texans having?

LOL 4th round jackpot? Really? The Cowboys set themselves up by investing heavily in the O line and are now reaping the benefits of it. They can put just about any scrub QB back there and they will look awesome given that they are almost never pressured. It's the easiest job in the NFL.

The Texans instead built up their defense, a defense that got them into the playoffs even missing numerous starters. If they now build up their O line, I imagine we'll see another QB miraculously look awesome for them too.

The Cowboys had a great o-line last year, where did that get them?

The Texans had JJ Watt in 2011 and he didn't get many sacks, thus JJ Watt is not good at getting sacks. Solid logic.

Anybody see Sam Darnold light it up against Penn State in the Rose Bowl? Don't know much about this kid but love to see him with the Texans.

The Cowboys O-Line has been elite for 3 years. You're saying that they had a down year 2 years ago for an inexplicable reason that has nothing to do with who is at QB. Interesting.

The Texans should have Romo arrested for even visiting Houston.

QB is so unimportant that Raiders went from slight AFC favorites to underdogs because one player is missing. Dolphins in a similar situation.
