I was busy and didn't go. F*** Chivas. I don't even go for that crappy team. Besides... this here is H-Town... I will not go even for my favorite Mexican team at BBVA vs. our Houston Dynamo. And, you're a wuss, man. Support p
FYI...a 2nd road win this past weekend at RSL...which is a very tough place to play on the road. 6 games to play with 2 games in hand. At this point, I'd just be happy with not finishing in last. We're just about mathematically eliminated from the playoffs race. I'm on that line of wondering if I'd be happy about playing well these last 6 but risking that the FO thinks Barrett is the way to go next year.
It may be too late but the Dynamo won two consecutive matches for the first time in the season. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oGPsy6EG51g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-iumVjYpxNI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It's definitely too late but it's nice to see them playing better. Manotas has been a great surprise...made even better than it means Bruin stays on the bench. Still concerned they'll see this as a reason to stick with the status quo.
Apparently Wilmer Cabrera. I'm on board. Decent job at RGV and gets to show he deserved another coaching gig in MLS after Chivas USA.
MLS Cup on FOX right now. Seattle @ Toronto. Good game so far. Will be first time one of the original teams in the MLS will not win a Cup.
The Dynamo have left the following players UNPROTECTED for the expansion draft: Arboleda Quinones, Yair Beasley, DaMarcus Brown, Calle Brown, Keyner Garcia Iniquez, Agustin Garcia, Kevin Horst, David Lovejoy, Rob Maidana, Cristian Mansally, Abdoulie Rodriguez, Raul Steinberger, Zach Warner, Collen Williams, Sheanon
I'm surprised Beasley hasn't called it a career, yet. I'm even more so disappointed that they protected Bruin.
It's hard to care about the Dynamo anymore when the front office gives even less of a d*mn than I do.
Seems like a league problem. Are they still owned by the same group that owns the Galaxy? When I read that, it was hard for me to care about the Dynamo and MLS any longer.
No, AEG sold their stake to minority owner Gabriel Brener, so he is majority owner now. I think they already told Maidana they are not resigning him, so no point in protecting him. He was also pretty terrible last season
No, Gabriel Brener bought out AEG's stake and is the managing owner, with Oscar De La Hoya and others holding the other 50%. To this point, though, they've shown exactly the same amount of (lack of) interest as AEG did. They have made a good hire for coach. The off season is just getting started so we'll see what they do. Another off-season and season with no big moves and being at the bottom of the table could be devastating. They're losing fans by the bunches right now because there's just no energy around the team at all. The January transfer window will be a good insight to what they plan to do going forward. I imagine that the return of Cubo Torres is about it, though.
The Dynamo HAVE to be better about scouting and signing Latin born players. There's a treasure trove of talent to the south of our borders, but unless the ownership really ponies up and starts spending money for player development, we will continue to get left in the dust. European DPs willing to come to the US will never choose Houston as a landing spot (they'd rather go to the East or West Coast almost always), so it's up to us to tap into markets that would be willing to come play here. I'm hoping that our new coach brings a more aesthetically pleasing style that can attract some young players wanting to make a name for themselves.
