Stat Line (29 minutes, DNP in 4th quarter): FG: 21/33 3PT: 8-14 FT: 10-11 REB: 2 AST: 1 STL,BLK,TO: 0 Warriors rout Pacers at Oracle 142 - 106 Unbelievable performance by Klay, went off after not starting the season well.
Impressive. When he is hot he is hot. He really is a great role player. Would love to have him on our team. I also like that they did not put him in in the fourth to pad his stats (Harden sometimes does stay in longer to improve his stats, and I never like that).
This is why I think the Warriors will split up eventually, this kid will never know how good he can be while playing third fiddle.
It is good for them to stay together after Lebron is starting to decline (It will take some time). Spurs cannot touch them if they all click and fire on all cylinders.
Absolutely incredible efficiency. He's a superb catch and shoot player, probably top 3 all time. Deadly sniper. Pretty sure that JJ redick could do this just as well on this warriors team. None the less, incredible efficiency and great game.
Dude deserves props It's not easy to drop 60 even if you get hot. SO many players get hot but for a small stretch. To do it and score 60 deserves credit. When Klay gets hot, he is even harder than Steph Curry to stop IMO because of his size advantage. He can elevate over most guards.
I will go out and say I have rarely seen such scoring explosion, reminds me of 13 in 33 seconds. I think Thompson was also responsible for most points in one quarter, or two quarters in recent years. Westbrook might the most physically explosive turtle in the NBA, but someone like Klay is the real blast these days.
It was impressive, BUT... Watched the video and all 21 of his field goals were two dribbles or less. Almost all were officially assisted, with a couple that came from in-bounds plays. If he dribbled 3 times, the only way he got points was if he was fouled. He can shoot the lights out, but the guy really is light years away from being an alpha or shot creator. This Warriors team is just so A) stacked, and B) caught up on making headlines that things like this will keep happening. They want to do something historic every few weeks, and they are good enough to do it. Klay is the epitome of right place, right time.
This makes for awesome entertainment, but the subsequent gloating and non-stop media fawning make it unbearable. He's pretty much due for a game like this every few months and I've learned to steer clear of ESPN afterwards.
He put it up 33 times in 29 minutes. This was not organic, team was giving him all of the shots and to his credit he was nailing most of them.
