Bobby Brown sucks and is 32 years old. He is a career sub 40% shooter (and not just from 3 point area). Can someone give me a logical reason we are keeping him other than that he is friends with Harden?
What's more likely - that the Rockets kept Bobby Brown because Harden likes him, or that the Rockets see Prigioni/Brown as inconsequential to the success of the team and valued the 3rd string 32 year old player that had more scoring capabilities over the 39 yea old who has more playmaking abilities?
i'm a prigioni hater, but he did play quite well this preseason and clearly impressed above brown, who was a ridiculous blackhole every time he stepped on the floor. brown's shots started going in against SA's scrubs the last game.....which means he'll probably shoot 4-27 in his next 5 outings
Did you look at the Pre-season? Outside of Gordon, we don't have any other reliable guards. Beverly is hurt, as always, Ennis can't shoot, Prigioni should've never been signed and KJ has no offensive game.....so who else do we have??? BB is the only guard, outside of Harden and Gordon that can put the ball in the basket and one of them has been hurt the past few yrs. So when you ask, why is BB on the team, to me Morey didn't have any other choice.
Players who can put the ball in the basket against NBA defense don't spend basically their whole career in Europe. Being a chucker isn't the same as being able to score. Prigioni actually has an NBA skill (being able to get a team into an offensive set and knowing how not to hurt a team) and GPII provides at least some upside. Not that any of them would have made an impact, but either would have been preferable to this guy.
MDA had the whole preseason to decide who's better and he decided to go with Brown. I am sure he knows better than you do.
Yeah, i mean, Bobby went for what? 20 points (?) shooting 8 on 20 from the field and 3 on 11 from the 3...in a garbage time game against the Spurs pups...wow and his defense was utter **** btw, probably even worse than his shot selection and his slow release...but let's see how he does against real teams in the NBA.
Dude, Prigioni IS 40!!! He was not going to last a whole season, he was hurt in the pre-season and with Anderson and Gordon on the team, you need players who are durable. A lot of guys play most of their careers in Europe before coming back to the NBA and doing well. Mario Ellie and Patrick Beverly can attest to that!
Would you say the same thing if he was from europe, spain or venezuala with a name we can't pronounce? How old is Lull?
