If a thread starter is on my ignore does the entire thread disappear? I'm not showing the Giles needs to go thread in the Astros forum.
Woah, thanks for linking to this. This change is GREAT. Much, much better. On the whole, i'm still in the group that is mourning the old layout. Just tougher to navigate the new layout, even ignoring the lack of the dark them. But this button REALLY REALLY improves things. I think it should be default as this wider width. I never would have found it without this tip. Is there a way to turn off signatures? I don't care to see other people's sigs... sorry guys! And still vote for getting post timestamps back above the post. Or is there some other more obvious way to know when a post was made BEFORE actually reading the post?
Rockets are off today so I'll be working on some of the stuff mentioned in the thread. Hoping to get search restored by tomorrow as well.
Besides there being no dark mode (yet)........my only gripe with the layout is people's signatures. When they have a quote in their signature, I have a hard time, at first, to notice it's a signature and not part of the post. Confusing at times....
Second this. It doesn't seem logical to put the timestamp below the post. Also, I don't really understand why the person's name is coupled with the timestamp. Is that so when an Admin edits a post, you'll see his name instead of the poster's name?
Awesome! Thanks for all your hard work..... 1 more little thing, which I'm sure you're tweaking is the excess amount of space or gap...at the end of a post where it says our names and time stamp.
Thanks Clutch. This is probably much harder than just a color tweak, but if there's a way to allow users to select "don't show signatures" that'd be awesome. I really don't want to see them, lol. It's just so repetitive to me!
Go to the upper right hand corner, click your nick and select Preferences. Under the Options section there is a checkbox to "Show people's signatures with their messages". If you deselect that, it *should* disable sigs. Edit: Yup, just tested it...my sig on this post disappears when I make that change.
I think if the time stamp and the post# was moved to the top of the post, the space would be reduced to just enough to house the Report, Like, and Reply buttons.
Totally agree with this. Post "time" is one of the first things I look at in terms of post context. Having it "lead" the post I feel is more natural.
Likewise, and now I also look for posts with Likes. Nice if that Like list leads, as well...it gets truncated at 3 voters, then adds a Like Counter like Facebook, so won't grow too long and wrap.
Good point in the likes location! Another "context" element. If the post has a bunch of likes, I know I will pay closer attention to it.
