Knicks and Rockets have similar rosters. I mean in terms of Star to player. . I mean derrick rose is like a gordon but when healthy someimtes Knicks and rockets don't have two bonafied super stars just 1, like the top 6 teams do, but what hurts the rockets more is lock down defense. And i dont think the knicks play any defense either, so i would say it would be funny if both team lose under .500 and still make the playoffs in 8th seed. But there offensive helps them in the playoffs get far. It would just be funny thou to see that. Say what you want to say about it.
My guess is that they want prigioni around for training camp and maybe a coaching job afterwards , but I think we eat his contract . Witjler or whatever his name is probably shouldn't make it . GP2 I think we like but if he doesn't seem to pick things up at a reasonable pace then we will eat his contract. Brown and Taylor are training camp bodies Bev/Gordon/ GP Harden / Gordon / KJ Ariza / Dekker / Brewer / KJ Anderson / Dmo / harrel Clint / nene / Onaku That's 14 unique names . So maybe we can keep prigs or another prospect depending on where we feel deep . Ami I forgetting anyone ?
Fully guaranteed just means money . We can still cut him we would just have to pay . And for a contract that small it's not too big a deal . At least I think we can cut him ??
Morey may have viewed the risk of cutting him as acceptable to get him to sign here as an UDFA . Keep in mind this is before we traded for Ennis.
No, I'm pretty sure they like Prigioni because he's a great pick and roll point guard, and Mike D'Antoni's system is pick-and-roll heavy.
All the big men are staying. Witjer is what happens if Ryan Anderson gets injured earlier than usual. Ditto Bobby Brown for Eric Gordon. Prigioni is the first man off the island if one of the young guys impresses. Brewer is the second.
7-8 guys rotation MDA quote: "Traditionally, I've been skewered because I played seven or eight guys," D'Antoni said. "I like that. I just think it's really important that my sixth, seventh and eighth man have good minutes, that they feel very comfortable. "You're asking somebody like Eric Gordon to come off the bench, I have to make sure he gets starter minutes. If you have somebody like Nene or Clint (Capela) coming off the bench, they got to get starter minutes. If D-Mo gets here – I hope he does – he's got to get starter minutes. So, if you play (reserves) starter minutes and the starters starter minutes, you don't have any more."
No: Too many holes. Too many liabilities and contract issues (player comfort) See Mike James/Rafer Alston 3.0 or is it Shane/Gay 2.0 (minus the draft) Like JVG, Mike D likes his system guys or guys who fit in easily (Ry Anderson for example) Look for some Hinkie leftovers, Vlade's dysfunction and a wildcard with a Bird and the Birds. If you know me, you know who I'm worried most about losing, especially with new coaching leadership. Peace and Love.
I never said he wasn't going to be on the roster. But he will def be in the D-League unless he makes a significant improvement from summer league to pre-season. GP2 w/the limited minutes he had in the summer league looked better than CO. Now w/the signing of PJ i do believe the rockets have something up their sleeves, wether its trading DMo with a package of players or cutting everyone they signed (not likely). So far under contract you have: Guarantees James Harden Ryan Anderson Eric Gordon Trevor Ariza Corey Brewer Patrick Beverley K.J. McDaniels Nene Hilario Tyler Ennis Sam Dekker Clint Capela Pablo Prigioni Montrezl Harrell Chinanu Onuaku Gary Payton II Non-Guarantees PJ Bobby Isaiah Taylor Kyle Wiltjer QO: Donatas Motiejunas That's 15 players with guaranteed contracts on the roster w/Chinanu & GP more than likely headed to the D-League but like i said UNLESS Wiltjer, Brown, PJ, or Taylor impress the coaches than more than likely all are gone.
