Nah, he's at Palmeiras and played in their youth before.

The Gabriel from Santos was a good talent, but haven't followed him in the past year. His issue has been speed, vision and a rather weak shot, also has the tendency to overdo it. So more of a flashy winger that isn't very effecient.

Gabriel Jesus on the other hand is also able to play on the wings, but I see him more as a striker, where he also plays the slight majority of his minutes. Superb skills, vision BUT at the same time a world-class shot and ice in his veins, which seperates him from so many Brazilian talents. He reminds a lot of people of young Ronaldo (the Brazilian legend) and I hope Pep doesn't waste his talents.

I don't see Pep bringing City to glory this season. Too much of a transitional year. The starting XI needs an influx of youth. The back 4 all have question marks. The midfield needs to be revamped. Gundogan will help with that if he can get fit.

I'm wondering where Iheanacho fits in with Pep's style. He's such a clinical finisher but the rest of his game needs refinement.

Depends on what you consider glory... EPL Champs isn't outta the question as most big clubs in EPL are in transitional periods as well.
City probably will be the early favorite.
UCL should be Barca, Bayern, Real again.

    Que? who?

I don't even know who he is. He's not reported in Liverpool websites nor sky sports.

They are making a series of international exhibition games out of it across several continents.

As part of a International Champions Cup

Never thought it would be that big.

Higuain already did a medical examination for Juve, they are apparently really triggering the frickin 94mil buyout clause.

Why the F do you pay 94mil for a 28yr old Higuain that isn't able to carry any team? Absolute madness.

Higuain is still pretty good on club level, and above average in early tournaments except for Semi finals and final games.

They just spent the money from the Pogba transfer.

Man, they just transitioned it from what it was over the past decade or so. A series of well organized friendlies in North America to a pre-season tournament and then an expansion to other countries for matches. Same guy in charge of it and he's been making tons of money from it since early 00's . Now he's on board with the company run by the owner of the Miami Dolphins. They know there's money to be made from the pre-season matches.

Nice try being pessimistic but the bookmakers don't agree with you.
Like Rox1 wrote, it all depends on what you mean by glory. A trophy(any trophy?), 1st place in the EPL? A UCL final appearance?
EPL trophy, there's no reason why they can't win it. You're probably just being pessimistic since you're a fan of them but the starting XI is alright. Youth wise you have Kelechi, Zuculini and Sterling(hopefully in better form) to provide that. Celino could break through as well. At the back, Denayer and the younger guys like Adarabioyo and Angelino could maybe push through as well.

City's back four has question marks but so does United's back four and Chelsea's as well.

Iheanacho is willing to play anywhere in midfield or upfront for Pep and is capable of playing as a 9, a 10 or on the wings. You all at City haven't seen his ability to play a through ball to his teammates yet. The kid can setup goals not just score them.

In short, y'all are the favorites lol. The problems you mention are problems on other teams as well. Oh what an upset it will be if little Manchester United can upset the great Man City and all the other Premier League giants and win the title next May. Sigh, we can only dream.

Anyone know why Juventus hasn't won a UCL yet? They've dominated the Serie A for such a long time... and they won their league by a huge margin compared to the second place.

Champions League you mean? They won twice in the 80s and 90s.

Italian competition level is not what it was in the 90s and early 00s.

They won it with Marcello Lippi the legendary coach and Del Piero. The most recent one.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_UEFA_Champions_League_Final

Since then they got several Finals appearances

And they got close with Allegri, Pogba, Morata, Tevez

They are on the outside looking in but the recent Top teams in UCL are IMO:

    Real
    Barca
    Bayern
    Atletico

with teams like Chelsea, Dortmund still making noise

They need top players and a top coach but with the money in the Premier League and those Big 3 in Spanish La Liga and Bayern

I am not sure when they will win the Champions League again.

Mario Gomez signing with Dortmund, damn. They're assembling a reaaally nice team. Just need a world-class defender now.

That wouldn't make sense to me.

Anyway, I think Dortmund will win the championship this year. I think they clearly have a stronger team than Bayern this season.

No confirmation yet tho, maybe Turkish media made it up.

Dortmund will really be tough competition, although I feel like they should've used the money to buy a world-class defender, they only bought players for offense.

Manchester Derby canceled in Beijing due to poor field conditions. They've apparently had terrible rain and couldn't get the field right in time.

    Sure.

They are going the Top talent now and International class caliber players later route which is commendable.
