While I know they were just posting the top 10 guys, it is interesting that (i) Beasley is in there in the SF position. Beasley as a backup that can play SF is pretty interesting and makes some sense offensively and as a really good rebounding SF. Of course, it's the opposite of small ball. Beasley next year will be one thing that will be pretty important to the ultimate success of the team. If he can successfully play SF, PF, C in backup minutes, without being too crazy offensively or too bad defensively, it will really help the team. (ii) DMo is picture at all. I get they have his rights, but he is a FA. As for the uniform, they're clearly better than the standard, but they are nothing special. One has to HOPE that 2017/2018 is the year. It's got to be! PLEASE!!!
Agree... I remember years ago folks were all hot for black uniforms and the NBA supposedly wouldn't allow another black uni. What is interesting is the use of Houston (good for an away uniform) and the arched writing (instead of the previous slanted). Clean, simple look.
I photoshopped that picture. I photoshopped the black jersey onto their photos from last season. A. I just posted the top 10 guys in order of their position if I could. B. I posted D-Mo just because I think he'll be back. C. I think the uniform is clean, personally.
Well the top is actually very strong, but once you see that the font & colour white of the number is different and the checkered pattern, it fails to deliver. They can never get it right.
The color of the number is not different. The red outline around "Houston" creates a slight illusion that the white in the letters is different from the white on the number. And I like the subtle checkered pattern, personally.
Yep. That "roll pattern" is only thing about the black uni I really like. It's black and that's it, kind of boring actually. But compared to the regular unis, it is like a tropical oasis at the end of a journey through the scorching desert.
Nitpicking maybe but they need to move the logo up & outline the number as well. Also, pant's red "piping" is larger than the jersey's red "piping". Spoiler
the logo on the shorts of the black uni is crazy large...they should put a small one on the front knee area so the side isn't crowded and the front isn't so plain.
Yeah but one could say the same thing about white uniforms -- every team has one. Remember when people went crazy about how awesome it was when the Lakers unveiled their home Sunday white uniforms about a decade ago? Pretty silly, to me, but it sells merchandise. Original or not, the black uni for the Rockets looks to be the best of a very bland set. I guess we should at least be grateful that red is still the primary color.
Now these black uni's, I would buy. But I do love those retro jerseys. Very nicely done man. Repped.
Hey I got a photoshop question for you. How did you change the color so well without losing any detail? It looks flawless.
J.R. those nitpicks are not bad. Totally agree with your suggestions. They are small items but make the appearance more polished. Particularly agree with the number outline and the "R" logo moving up in the yoke. I am ok with the pant piping.
