The hottest theory on the planet: {...} the Houston Rockets will let James Harden be the team's starting point guard this upcoming season. link Personally, I think it makes more sense to pair Harden with a strong-shooting SG than a strong-playmaking PG. As long as that SG can cover the PG on D, I don't see why it wouldn't work. <BR>
Hence the need for a "backup" PG. I see this as paving the way for Gordon to play alongside Harden more often.
Awesome! Really hope so. As long as Beverley doesn't start any more, I'm fine. Beverley thrives off the bench and Gordon is another creator and it just makes sense. Rubio or Westbrook are not walking through that door.
He's basically the PG anyways. Even if Bev gets the inbound, Harden is calling for the ball before half court every time.
we need to try this. harden is already the majority ball handler. we just need a good shooter/good defender of PGs with him in the backcourt. I don't know if there is still one out there?
PointBread is fine in this offense with the addition of some shooters. Harden hopefully will cut down on his holding and dribbling in the same spot for 18 seconds to only lose the ball in a trap now that the Rockets are running 7 seconds or less offense. I bet he had almost 2 TO a game because he was resting with the ball. So who's the back up pg going to be??
Well he was already the "PG" last year because he held the ball all the time so what's the difference?
Exactly, last year it was take the ball out of Harden's hands and we get Beverley running around dribbling through the lane or near the baseline with nowhere to go OR Ariza trying to dribble before settling for a contested 3 or a horrible drive to the basket OR dump it to Howard for a weird hook shot. Now you can throw it to Gordon who can also create OR Anderson who can create. It could then more easily get back to Harden or an alley-oop for Capela, a three for Ariza if they do not shoot it themselves. Makes 100% sense!
I guess the difference they are hping for this year is that we will have more than one shooter on the floor... Looking forward to it...
