I bet the owners and players are going to have another long term lock out just to put in another amnesty clause in the new agreement. These contracts are getting just as annoying as the previous ones. I get it if the star players get more money but who else is going to overbid for these "good" rotational players?
Turner has high iq but still can't shoot. The market is pretty erratic. Turner gets the same annual money as Fournier, who is a lot more valuable. Parsons get 40% more even with his injury history. Crabbe is one of the few young players that might actually outperform one of these contracts. I'd bet $18 mill on him. If we really want him maybe we go up to $19m. Portland would have a tough call to match at that level.

I love how the Blazers were praised last offseason for sticking with their young core in the wake of Aldridge departure and not panicking. Now they toss $100 mm to Evan Turner and Pau Gasol. Really? Portland, really? Yes I get you performed better than expected vs. the Warriors, but you still got dispatched in 5 games and I don't think you're an Evan Turner or a Pau retirement plan away from shocking the world
i think someone else said parson's contract didn't look so bad after seeing turner's contract. good time to be a free agent.
yeah, people were saying (and i agreed) that they hoped portland didn't overreact to making the 2nd round and suddenly think they were a lot further along in their rebuild than they really were and then sign a bunch of guys and hurt future fliexibility. it looks like they are doing that.
This deal is horrible. Give so much money to someone who can't shoot 3s and can't defen? LMAO. Lillar-McCollum-Turner ..that perimeter defence of Portland is going to be amazing!
A guy that works for me is an intense Blazers fan and he is totally disgusted. I respect Neil Olshey but this is a head-scratcher.
Now I think we can get Crabbe for less. he's very similar to Hill but shoots 3s better. $16m might do it. Blazers probably took Turner for intangibles. Mentorship, locker room presence, etc. Maybe Crabbe doesn't get along with the rest of the team and they want to replace him. Or they think that they can keep Crabbe for $12m, which seems unlikely.
Why pay Turner when you have Crabbe? I know everyone's asking that but I just don't get it. Maybe Crabbe is a bad locker room presence? Totally confused by the signing.
