Sounds like if the Haws were offering the max, he would have accepted it by now. They must not be offering it, and we should offer it. Horford would be a great addition and could open the door to Conley joining the team. Maybe miraculously convinces Durant. Maybe edges Bazemore towards signing.
So why the hell do we want Bazemore? He's a good defender, but he's a very average 3 point shooter. He's a lateral move compared to Ariza and he's WAY more expensive.
you have to think that if theres a commiment from Bazemore than Horford follows..It just feels that way
Don't know much about Bazemore's game but assuming your take that this is a lateral move CURRENTLY, then Bazemore offers more upside and potential to fulfill. If he's already at Ariza's level now, the youth plus the preserved tread on Bazemore's tire due to being primarily roster filler early in his career indicate that Baze will take that Ariza's role to the next level. Considering the market, you can't really value each player dollar for dollar anyway.
IMO you sign Bazemore so you can dangle Ariza out there for a trade. Ariza will be a great cheap get that will be on a bargain contract for 2 years compare to the same type of guys getting bank in the new market of the NBA.

wth... have we signed anyone yet? I thought we had baze in the bag last night and might be getting horford today. But so far nothing
He was interested in us, Miami, and Boston. Miami signed Whiteside, so now it's between us and Boston
