i think he is a top 10 prospect even with average power. he has been every bit as good as swanson is this season and swanson is a top 10 prospect.
Results aside, do you think either of these players can contribute at the big league level right now? The rotation likely needs an ace to take that burden off of Dallas but a really good ace is likely at the cost of Feliz.
Luhnow has said he expects Hoyt will play this year. Astros have been really fortunate regarding injuries and just haven't needed to dip into the reserves.

Hoyt is purely a victim of how good the bullpen has been (and how healthy). My hope, even though it is hard to imagine them doing it, is they trade Neshek before the deadline to open a spot for Hoyt.
Here's an article on Tri-City LHP Ben Smith and his long road back to baseball: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">An Astros Prospect Overcomes Adversity Times Three <a href="https://t.co/3KT5ErOPXy">https://t.co/3KT5ErOPXy</a></p>— FanGraphs Baseball (@fangraphs) <a href="https://twitter.com/fangraphs/status/747814560510287872">June 28, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
He is from Warner Robins, GA (his parents live here), where I've lived almost all of my life. His brother went to High School here (a cross town rival, though our secondary rival), and was a student at Georgia Southern (my alma mater). Small world sometimes. I wish it was going better for him.
Stephen Wrenn hit 2 homers in the first game of a doubleheader for Tri-City. He now has 5 in the early going in the NYPL.
Bregman 2-2 so far in his AA debut. Preston Tucker has 2 homers already and its barely the 3rd inning. XD
