Morey should just stop talking, just stop it. I don't care if he's capable, I want him gone. Give me a GM who stays out of the spotlight or someone like Ujri 10 times out of 10.

lol nobody was saying a damn thing at that time though were yall? we all loved that playoff run. nobody said anything when we traded for harden and everyone loved getting dwight.

like its sooo easy to build a contending team lol its happens overnight huh

As far as I remember, In the past 10 years, only 4 teams have more than one visit to the WCF (Spurs, Lakers, Thunder, Warriors).

Like every team not on that list, the Rockets need to rely on a huge acquisition (Pau Gasol) or a couple of guys developing into stars at the same time (Manu, Parker // Klay, Curry // KD, Westbrook // Harden, ???) to get into that mix.

Morey has tried different methods to make that work. He's been middle-of-the-road as a GM, but I can't sit and hate him for not going into the WCF every season. The NBA is an irritating league and not like the NFL or NHL where a balanced roster can take you far. It's top heavy and every season is determined by the actions or free agency decisions of an elite few players.

Someone needs to Photoshop Morey in a bunker.

People seem to forget that the one time in ten years we went to the WCF was because KD was injured and only played 27 games. The Thunder went to the WCF in both 2013-14 and 2015-16. Do you honestly think the Rockets get to the WCF in 2014-15 if KD is healthy?

Not really, we had Yao and Tmac for several years and they could not advance. It's not always enough to have two great players and fill-ins around them. Look at GS and Cleveland. They've both got crazy depth and multiple stars. That's what you need and it's hard to get that without the draft.

Say what you want, but the Warriors were built from the draft and so was Cleveland. LeBron basically returned to his draft town, they used the #1 overall pick to get Love, and Kyrie was #1 overall. It was less conventional, but bottoming out got them where they are. Morey does what he has to because he can't bottom out to get the picks. What more can the guy do??

    1. With all that talent, last year we had a worse record than any season where we had Jeremy Lin or Kevin Martin. Think about how much you have to coach a team down to get that to happen.

    2. No matter the amount of talent on this team, we did not have a coaching staff in place to take them to a championship. McHale, Bickerstaff, everyone...they would have turned the Warriors into a perennial 8 seed. They would have been fired by Jordan or Kobe long ago. It was reminiscent of those Texans playoff teams with Matt Schaub at QB. A fatal flaw that was going to be exposed always at the wrong times, because as the stakes go higher their performances tank.

Right now it's uncertain if the coaching staff is championship caliber, but the talent has taken a huge step backwards. We should be able to improve from our record last year simply by the removal of bad karma, but we're no close to a championship than we were 3 years ago.

Fatal flaws, Morey. You can't ignore them. Maybe that includes the owner.

I for one no longer trust this guy.
This off season should be his last if he doesn't put a real contender on the floor.

Not some team full of non dribbling, non shooting, and non good passing players that
lean on Harden to do everything.

    **** a laptop Morey.
Nobody gives a **** about the WCF two years ago
Hell the grizzlies once made the WCF. Where are they now?
You better get us two versatile real superstars asap.

I'm sick and tired of Morey doing interviews talking about flexibility, WCF finals two years ago, how the Rockets are such a winning franchise, blah blah blah....
We just want a fighting chance at getting a parade downtown.

The team Morey has assembled is a joke.
    I mean Brewer? Really?
Get the **** out of here Morey with that crap and get some real players.

    No to Dwight Howard please.
    This isn't the 90's or early 2000's.
We need multi skilled guys that can shoot, pass, dribble and make a free throw.

Thats kind of important you know.

managemetn was stupid, surrounded them with crap. then when they finally have good role players, tmac and yao were too banged up.

they can easily do it this season. plenty of cap space, can get two solid starters. then any combo of ariza, bev, brewer and dmo will get a good role player in return. that team can def make the 2nd round. harden, 2 good starters, capela, good role player, and beasley - thats 6 above avg rotation players. with kj, harrel and whoever else off the bench that is def a 2nd round team.

Morey doesn't even sound like he believes his own BS in that clip. Especially the bit about D'Antoni. If players love him so much, Daryl, then why did Dwight leave the Lakers when he was the coach there?

I still maintain that he knows he's finished here. He sounds like he has one foot out the door already.

He's had James Harden for this long and still hasn't put a legitimate 2nd option next to him.

"Ryan Anderson was number three on our free agent big board. To land him where we're at as a franchise, we were just fortunate. We're blessed to have him on board. He's gonna do big things. Good 3 point shooter. Mike's excited, I'm excited. We couldn't be more excited for the season to start."

For some reason, even with the possibility of Ryan Anderson, I feel that this won't be such a promising offseason and that there will be explanations to the moves we made, kind of like we had about D'Antoni.

4 years and still no legit 3pt shooters Daryl? Kinda important when you implemented the most 3pt centered offense in league history don't ya think?

"Even with the possibility of Ryan Anderson..."

We're not a "shooting" role player away. Perhaps a few years ago, with an effective Dwight Howard and adding Anderson as a third or fourth best player. But those days are long past...
