Would be odd timing to finalize a deal during the game. If there was a chance of him about to be dealt, they likely don't start him at all. He did legitimately hurt his back.
Not saying it's happening, but guys get pulled from games all the time because they've been dealt. Wouldn't call that odd at all.
Really not trying to be that guy, but my expectations are pretty low for Reed for some reason. Maybe it's just a gut feeling. Glad that we have sabermetrics now and not just my BS
Why wouldn't Worth be sent down? I know Gattis/Valbuena/Reed are redundant, but with Marwin, you could easily swing him to 2nd and Reed @ 1st in a pinch.
It was likely going to between Kemp and Worth, but if Valbuena is hurt then Worth likely stays and Kemp goes down. Platoon Marwin/Reed at first, Worth/Marwin at third, Reed/Gattis at DH.
Reed is going to be an everyday player... and given how Marwin basically is an everyday player, I see him playing 3B exclusively if Valbuena is hurt.
