Why are ppl acting like Nick Johnson is done. It's only been one year. He might sign with a team this offseason
Yeah the offense is bad, 3PTs and FTs. Looks like a one-way player. Has rebounding skills too, so there's that. Shorter Tony Allen? He will need to be really good to stop guys 3" taller, although there's plenty PGs to defend too.

G2 has much better ball handling and vision, not even close. G2 also has higher BB IQ especially on D. Only similarity is that both are above the rim athletes (KJ is more freakish) with a broken shot.
He'll be fine guarding both guard positions. Avery Bradley is 6'2 w/ a 6'7 wingspan. Payton II is 6'3 w/ 6'8 wingspan. More athletic and bigger as well.
I'm surprised he wasn't drafted. Shooting can improve if he puts in the work. He has a lot of other good attributes.
I really hope he can help me overcome the frustration of Isaiah Whitehead going one damn pick before we had the chance to nab him instead of Qi. Payton seems like he has the potential to soften that blow.
Are PG skills something you're born with or is it a learned skill. Is it a skill that can be taught? Steve Nash didn't play hero ball--he had supreme judgment. He knew when to pass, when to shoot, when to probe and reshape the opposition's defense. Watching the youtube videos of GPIIs weaknesses is pretty glaring. He has a lot to work on. But GPII needs more film work--Chris Paul watched a lot of video of Steve Nash and other PGs. I remember hearing/reading about in the 90s that GP senior used to watch KJ videos--here's hoping the kid has the same habits. He has the physical ability but the mind works faster than the body and is what separates the average from the good players.
You're either born with it or you're a shooting guard. Just because you're short doesn't make you a point guard
