irrelevant [ih-rel-uh-vuh nt] Spell Syllables Examples Word Origin See more synonyms on Thesaurus.com adjective 1. not relevant; not applicable or pertinent: His lectures often stray to interesting but irrelevant subjects. 2. Law. (of evidence) having no probative value upon any issue in the case. We weren't really expecting much since we didn't have a first round pick. Even though Morey claims he tried to acquire a first, I think most here simply saw that as spin. And even though people talked about the draft's depth, this draft was largely a "draft on potential" (the most NBA ready players were picks 3-7, the most solid pick was #5). So while a second round pick might be just as good as any player picked after 7, the Rockets still managed to disappoint. They draft a slightly taller version of their second pick pick last year. And they draft such a project that he may never make it here. Heck, the player that has the best chance of sticking was GP2... was not drafted. But I began the post talking about relevance. Sure, the team didn't have a first, so we weren't going to get much coverage last night. And while the ESPN coverage didn't exactly time the commercial break for the time the Rockets picked... they showed their disinterest in who we picked by including Boston Celtics logo and graphics when reporting the Rockets pick (reckon Boston had so many picks, ESPN thought all the draft picks belonged to Boston). Irrelevance. The Rockets were so excited to introduce the draftees they held their press conference well after midnight... long past any sentient reporter or fan would have gone to sleep. Irrelevance. There are two major sports talk radio shows in Houston. Neither have really covered the draft. How could they? No soundbites of excited players. So soundbites of excited front office people. Irrelevance. So the next stop is free agency. Lots of talk about Durant, Horford, Conley, Whiteside. Yea, right. The next tier of free agents are Batum, Bazemore, Dirk, Barnes, Anderson, DeRozan. Not very likely either. Then there is the third tier.. Rondo, Biyombo, Lin, Williams, that's where the Rockets are realistically playing. Irrelevance.
Great use of their time. We did so much on draft night. The direction of our team will be forever altered. If they're lucky, our two new draftees might actually get some practice time with James sometime in the next 2-3 years; right around the time they've made the D-league all stars. SPLASH!
Good pickup. Surprised he wasn't drafted by someone. Thought he had potential to be one of the second round players who surpassed expectations.
I think Harden was there to see if the brain trust could help figure out who the father of Kloe's baby was....
You think Harden was discussing possible new plays he will run with D'Antoni (see pad of paper next to bottle of water near Harden's feet)? Harden: "You see, I dribble the ball down the court... dribble the ball near the three point line. Then drive, but look at a teammate standing open n the corner, then..."
to show us with clarity that our team is basically a scrub collective. thanks! you can really see the scrubbiness come through in the spread sheet
That be an interesting project - looking for a possible correlation between a team's average height and weight. And then comparing the different decades.
Gosh, just look at the SG position (after Harden). The PG position. And the C position. Then compare this roster to GSW, OKC, SAN, POR, LAC, and MIN. That's HOU, MEM, UTA, NO, and SAC battling it out fr the last two spots. Man... long season.
