??? Seems pretty poorly timed. No first round pick to use as an asset. A weak draft. A team that probably wants to reserve cap space as much as possible. If you're talking about buying into the end of the first round because there is someone you/DM/others think has great value and has slipped... ... or buying some more second rounders.... Sure. That can make sense any year though, and I wouldn't anticipate those folks to be contributors or new blood to this team soon. I can see DM going international.
It's just you... you have a bad memory, and apparently aren't good at google!! Capela TJones Lamb (for reasons you provided) Parsons Morris PPat Budinger Brooks Landry that's since 2007 Jury is still out on Lull, Montrezl, Dekker The highest pick of that bunch was Lamb, who partially turned into Harden! The rest of the picks sucked. The valid point is that DM has not drafted an all-star like guy who has stuck. Nice, solid role player selections. But when you choose Morris over Kwahi, its a negative on the drafting record for sure.
IDK, I still think Montrezl was a steal. He has the motor and the potential to prove he should have gone in the first round.
Makes sense. Philly people want that I think. Just finished a Bill Simmons podcast and 1 of his podcasters Pat Barker, a big lifelong Philly fan, was just saying that, that he hopes they trade their 1st rounder for 2 2nd rounders. Voila, we have 2 2nd rounders. Morey's buddy Hinkie isn't there anymore, but still we've been pretty comfortable trading with them in the past, so...

Gotta feel for Ariza. Signed here twice. Probably being traded away twice. He's a multi-millionaire who plays basketball for a living so I'm pretty sure it doesn't bother him that much.

A shame about KJ - he's a player I really wanted to see have a serious impact on this team. He's so athletic and a good defender. Just watching him chase down and block layup attempts is exciting. It's just too bad that he's so limited offensively.
I would love that trade. Opening up upwards of $10MM in space while getting younger and trading away guys that don't fit under D'Antoni.
Wow, giving up a 2nd and Canaan now really does not make sense without really playing him the whole season.
