I don't claim he is the best PG of all time. Just like I don't claim Manning is the best QB of all time. But I think that just like Manning is considered one of the top QBs of all time I consider Curry a top PG of all time. Both had tremendous regular season stats more than worthy of MVPs but choked in the playoffs. But their playoff failures don't diminish the fact that each are all time great players. It is also arguable if Curry has even choked as much as Manning has in the playoffs.
He'll prob end up top 20 all time when it's all said and done if he keeps up those beast regular seasons. Obviously tough to get higher than that if he can't do it in the postseason.
If Curry continues on his current ways (beastly regular season mediocre playoffs) for a few more years, he is at least a top 10 PG of all time, maybe top 5 PG. (I don't like comparing completely different positions and sizes so PG or guards only.) Manning is considered a top 5 QB even though his playoff performance has been less than stellar.
Isn't he already a top 10 PG? He has 2 MVP's, led his team to a title, and is the greatest shooter in nba history. At this point, can you honestly put 9 PG's ahead of him?
As far as accomplishments, not sure I can name more than 3. I'd put Magic, Oscar, and maybe Zeke over him, but that's about it. Nash, Payton, and Stockton were all marred by lack of championships (or meaningful championships in Payton's case).
Why is Jerry West almost always never mentioned with PG's, but always mentioned with SG's. The man was a point guard.
Curry went from better than Jordan to barely top 20 maybe the answer is somewhere in between. I also would like to see him playing in different systems, because right now what GS has is special. He is part of the system but he isn't exactly needed for them to win games consistently.
as the guy for whom a 73 win supporting cast wasn't good enough and he had to whine to management to get him a former mvp so he could beat an uninjured team in the playoffs more than once every 2 years.
He could be an average player again in the NBA finals this year, and his stock can go from a high to a low again. This guy is soft, it is hard to predict his rank.
