I like this Brian Howard cat. 6'9, 185 lbs. Has a great demeanor on the mound. Good movement. Doug Fister esque
Of course he will, where's the bonus money going to come from to sign him? He's not elite enough to take a penalty for in the next draft.

Already posted in the Minor League Thread, but here it is again: a preliminary Tri-City roster. Of course, since it's a preliminary roster, it's subject to change. Taylor Jones (19) is listed, as is Alex DeGoti (15). Carmen Benedetti (12) is listed as an outfielder. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The 2016 ValleyCats preliminary unofficial roster: <a href="https://t.co/tTzNkYKHzy">pic.twitter.com/tTzNkYKHzy</a></p>— Tri-City ValleyCats (@ValleyCats) <a href="https://twitter.com/ValleyCats/status/742860182343065600">June 14, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Guessing all of our pool savings will go to Whitley. Maybe a little extra plus the overage to try and get one of the 11-20 hard to sign guys.
LaRue will probably require some overslot money. Whitley as well. Doubtful they have enough but any leftovers will go to Tuck or Slaughter.
I don't see why Whitley should expect overslot money. He went in the expected range and the slight difference between how much we can give over slot and slot itself probably isnt enough for him to go the college.
Guessing that Whitley signs at or below 1.17 slot ($2,504,200). If Whitley wanted over-slot monies, most of the Astros 2-10 round picks would all be signing for discounts on their slots, which they are not. When the dust settles I think that the Astros are hoping to have $500,000 slot money left to throw at Avery Tuck, round 4ish monies.
