He should be picked in the top 3. Going to be a great NBA player. I'd trade Capela, one of our seconds, and another asset for him and never look back. If I had pick 1 or 2 I'd give serious consideration to taking him.
Would you trade Harden for him and 2 future 1sts? Is he even on the level of your favorite guard Wicky Wubio?
No. For the simple reason that I don't entertain hypotheticals that have no chance of happening. Now if James wanted out or I knew he was leaving then a hypothetical like this may have some chance of happening. But today there is zero chance of Harden being traded, even if we could trade him for Steph and 10 future first rounders. Not at present. They're different types of players and he has no NBA experience. However Wicky Wubio is spelled with 2 w's. Which means if we traded for him we'd get a double dose of winning.
I doubt it. I think what will eventually happen is Murray will slot up to 3 or 4 along with Dunn. I think Bender slips. But if Murray would actually slip to 6 or so I'd like to make a run at him.
David Locke wants him for the Jazz. Locke is one of the most intelligent basketball media guys you can find.
I am not a fan of Jamal Murray at all. He is the exact same player as (Randy Foye). Is Foye worth a top 5 pick today? In regards to who should play beside Harden, I would love to go get the other Curry. A scoring point guard, who is very comfortable playing either on or off ball. Key is elite floor spacing ability. Rockets must add ball players that can MAKE SHOTS.
Randy Foye shot 38.9% from 2, 30.2% from 3, and 83.1% from the FT line while averaging 10.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game his freshman season at Villanova. Gimme a break man. Now go look up Curry's freshmen numbers at Davidson. And remember who he played against and who he played with. Gimme a break again. Now compare Murray to both players as freshmen. Gimme a break for the third time.
Just under 41% from three as a true freshman and he can drive, score and create, but it looks like he lacks the quicks to be a true point at this level. I agree he would be a good fit around Harden where Murray can go around screens and hit open shots off of Harden. I should add that it would be a very weak defensive backcourt, but hey ... D'Antoni! I do like the Rockets' chances of getting into the first round but not that high. Would love to see them get into the top 5-10 though.
How is Jamal's game compared to Devin Booker? Clutch, what assets would it take to get into 5-10? Toronto is at #9 and with 2 1st round picks. I could see them moving that pick for a vet.
Where he might struggle is position. Look, if he's going to hit at a 40% clip and prove he can score, he'll play. But, it would certainly be helpful if he was a truer PG, or a truer SG. For example, he's basically 1.5-2 inches shorter than Booker, with a 1.75 inch shorter wingspan and 5.5 inch shorter standing reach. Now, he's definitely the better athlete, and has better verticals. But it's hard to be a "tweener" in the NBA. The DWade's of the world are VERY few and VERY far between. You can become a player for sure, but a 1-3 pick??
If Philly gets him and Simmons he'll be their point just like Harden is ours. The reason I say he's top 3 is because he's got very good playmaking skills that weren't really needed or exposed at Kentucky because Ulis was at the point for them. But Murray has great floor vision and passing ability. He's a cross between Nash and a young DWill.
