Mda is going to turn harden into an offensive beast. I'm expecting it will take harden to curryesque levels where the o outweighs the d so much it doesn't matter. Imagine harden top of the key, Capella or Harrell set a hard screen, you got James rolling to the rim with shooters on the outside. with James ability to draw fouls or finish at the rim and bev or ta just waiting to light it up from 3 wow. Or even if James pitches back to cap or Harrell for an open 18 ft jumper wow. Then you have the marksman Dmo as your 5th option! Wow.
Expect the drama queens to come in here and **** on you just for wanting to have a mildly positive discussion about MDA.
Sometimes there's pleasant surprises and the majority are flat out wrong. Most recently Beasley comes to mind. I'd say 90% of the board thought it was a joke when we signed him. I'm excited about D'Antoni cause it means we're gonna have a new PG that can actually dribble, pass and create among other things hopefully. ****ing finally!
If they can't land a PG in free agency we may be stuck with Bev starting.... I personally can't see any PG rushing to Houston to play for this team.
We need to find a way into the top 5 and draft Kris Dunn. There's ya PG. I'm mildly pessimistic about this hire. We may end up liking him.
The point guard they get will not play defense either...Jeremy Lin. I am not saying I want him as the starter, just my prediction.
FYI Harden is already an offensive beast, the issue with him has always been on the other side of the ball.
I hate ro rain on your parade, but your "new" pg is James Harden. They envision him in a Steve Nash role. Minus the 10+ turnovers he'll be getting each game, I think they may be onto something.....
i actually think they will make james a SF in a full time small ball lineup. while i'm very critical of this hire, and not at all optimistic about our future while MDA is here, i will say that the silver lining is that we desperately needed playmakers other than harden. not to mention that harden is best defensively at the 3, and moving him off the ball can help make the offense less predictable. that being said, adding 2 playmakers to the backcourt with james at the 3 could actually help.
