Jones is an 11 pts, 6 rebs career player who...... Has no definable offensive strengths, mediocre-at-best shooting efficiency, poor defensive positioning, poor rotations, no concept of boxing out at all, reluctance to pass back out of the paint, and a low basketball IQ. A coach who plays Jones extended minutes is saying "please out-rebound us by 30, and take all the second chances you like, unless Dwight gets the ball."
in what i saw, he looked for his own shot way to much, it got to the point that he didnt make plays but shot it the majority of the time. He had bad defensive rotation. There was a period in last season before he got injured that he was a beast but didnt come back the same after this injury. He is serviceable but is not an upgrade to Beasley or Dmo at this point.

The whole team sucked, except for Harden and Beasley. JB was hell bent on making Capella and Howard work.
May 26 and we have a thread about T_ones...he's last on the Rocket's list of "what to do with this guy".
Oh wow, we still have some people making excuses for Jones? He fell out of the rotation due to being arguably the worst PF in the entire league. Harrell didn't get minutes because JBB is an idiot. If we can somehow keep DMo, then we'll have 2 very good PF options going forward and Jones is probably getting his passport ready to go play overseas. He might get one more partial season in the NBA, but he's done.
Hate to break it to you but Beasley sucked too, there's 2 sides of the ball and Beasley's "defense" makes Harden's "defense" look amazing.
why are we talking about tjones and harrell? when you build a house, you have to lay the foundation right, or everything eventually falls apart even though the house may look pretty for a while. this team didnt lay its foundation right...
The one thing that drove me the craziest about Jones was his insistence on putting the ball on the court when he caught it in the paint. He couldn't just go to the basket.
Harrell = rookie = make more mistakes Jones = inconsistent JBB is trying to win as many games as possible to impress the owner to try to land the head coach job. So he is trying to do whatever he can to win.
Trez makes rookie mistakes? Compared to the rest of our PFs? He is literally the only guy that consistently stays in front of his man and boxes out. He also has the highest PPP on postups out of all of our bigs. He also has shown that he can really shoot the ball as seen by his dleague 3 balls.
I was a big supporter of Jones, met him his rookie season at a hookah bar, and he played well the next two years, his potential was so high, but he's far from there now, and probably lost a lot of his confidence. Hope he goes some where and refinds himself, he's still young and has a lot of potential.
He's skilled, but still raw. Needs to work on his emotions since the NBA is not allowing anyone to go full KG anymore. Love his game, the motor on this kid is great. Would love to see what he can do with extended minutes.
No sir, the role of Beasley was not to play defense it was to stuff the stat sheet in the scoring column. Otherwise out total offensive output very night would have been 64 points.
Doctor Drake Remoray from Days of our lives, if you dont know why Terrance "weird injury" Jones should not play then you really are Joey Tribbiani
