Especially considering he already went to the ECF twice with the Pacers.

The biggest loser and biggest basketball moran.

I'd take a pay cut to get a ring only if I was a relevant player in the team.

and hey LMA, now you're stuck in a home for the aged.

He brought his value at an all time low. He won't get much money.

At least Aldridge signed a 4 yr/80 mil deal in a state with no income taxes. He's gonna be fine financially even if he took less money than Portland was offering.

The spurs are in a great position as long as they have Kawhi and Pops running the show. Next year they can get Pau at a discount and their euro pick up has been solid for them so not sure why everyone is writing them down. Sometimes you underperform in the playoffs, this is just the first year LMA is on the team so there's bound to be some adjustment.

Honestly their future looks brighter now than it did last season, last year they just had Kawhi, now they have Kawhi, LMA and space to sign another guy. Hell, if I was KD I'd go to the Spurs next year.

hahahahaha. I love when the Spurs "take less money" strategy backfires on people.

Billionaires convince gullible millionaires that they should sacrifice millions. FOR THE TEAM.

I'm sure there will be a "no regrets" article from David West at some point soon.

The more you say it, the more you can believe it.

Pau would be a slight bump over Duncan(at his current age), but they still need a lot of help. Parker cannot be their starting PG anymore. He's about to turn 34 and it's an old 34. He came into the league 15 years ago and the Spurs have consistently made long playoff runs. There's a lot of mileage on that dude. Manu is done. West and Diaw may be done. Bonner is done. Mills and Green are too streaky.

They do have space to sign another big name free agent, but so does every team. They'd be better served to use that cap space to completely revamp their bench.

I'm surprised the players union did not step in and tell him no! Bro - 9,000,000 - maybe he doesn't play for the money - but dude, 9,000,000.

I don't know what he was thinking. Always take the guaranteed money unless you are a Lebron, Durant, etc..

In a league where a very large percentage of players go broke within 5 years of retirement, leaving millions on the table is just plain stupid.

Where are the stats on this statement?

And to be fair, what the players do after retirement has nothing to do with how much they earn.

You can either be a bonehead like Antoine Walker and Latrell Sprewell, or you can actually hold onto your money like a smart person.

He also talked to the Warriors before signed with the Spurs. He'd have played a much bigger role since the Warriors really don't have post scoring.
