All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PVP that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on Root Sports unless otherwise noted. 5-12 Dallas Keuchel, LHP (2-4, 4.70) vs. David Price, LHP (4-1, 6.75) 6:10 MLBN (Out of Market) 5-13 Lance McCullers, RHP (0-0, 0.00) vs. Steven Wright, RHP (3-3, 1.52) 6:10 MLBN (Out of Market) 5-14 Collin McHugh, RHP (4-3, 5.50) vs. Clay Buchholz, RHP (2-3, 5.90) 12:05 FS1 5-15 Chris Devenski, RHP (0-2, 1.72) vs. Sean O'Sullivan, RHP (1-0, 6.43) 12:35 MLBN (Out of Market)
The 2 guys with an ERA under 2 are a combined 3-5, while the 2 guys with ERAs over 6 are a combined 5-1. That is pretty ridiculous.
David Price's peripherals are almost completely in line with his typical numbers, yet his ERA is huge. That's suggests he has pitched into a ton of bad luck, and that's gonna come back to bite some of his opponents. Hopefully it's not us. The other 3 are very hittable. Be nice to win this one tonight, Keuchel could use a signature Keuchel start to really get him rolling.
Getting a split in Boston will be a victory. We do have a chance to be 3-1 if we can get good starting pitching in this series.
Knuckle-baller is due for a WTF-type game that all knuckle-ballers have at some point. Astros should use Sparky to warm them up against it... it worked last year.
Sox offense has ben crazy this month. Our pitching needs to be great for us to win games this series.
other teams play the red sox? I thought it was Redsox v yankees 162 errryday. Big papi is having one of his best seasons ever but we can sweep them if we win all the games. (i would take a split too)
Pretty crazy that tonight is a match-up of the two guys who finished 1 & 2 in the Cy Young voting last year, and there is absolutely no publicity about it since they've both struggled this year.
Eh, in April that was a given but Marwin, Valbuena, and White have been playing fairly well over the last 7 games. Gomez is the one guy who has consistently looked terrible, minus the Minnesota game where he wasn't trying to hit the ball to the moon.
Just gonna go ahead and place this casual reminder here: <iframe src='http://mlb.mlb.com/shared/video/embed/embed.html?content_id=231254683?topic_id=8878860&width=400&height=224&property=mlb' width='400' height='224' frameborder='0'>Your browser does not support iframes.</iframe>
A split would be acceptable, but with McCullers and Keuchel going, 3-1 could be doable. Both pitchers need to instill some road-confidence for the team, for the fans, and for themselves. #ballin
