Haha...a vet team...pfft. Our team is going to be one of the youngest teams in the league in the next few months. We're only going to have Harden, Bev, Ariza, Capela, Beasley and Harrell most likely once free agency starts. For Morey's replacement. Larry Riley. The real man who built the Warriors. http://www.businessinsider.com/larry-riley-warriors-demoted-2015-5
I think Boylen and Messina are my favorite options. Would love to grab any of them, and their value will go up seeing as the Spurs look like they might win it all.
Not a vet team really and nearly half the playoff teams made it with first time head coaches. Some have obviously been coaching their teams for a few years but each hire was a gamble at the time. Not all of the gambles will pay off but the retreads haven't either exactly.
Agreed. I have no problem with JVG returning, but it's ok to take a shot on an assistant or someone from the college ranks. Look at how well Portland's done with Stotts. Joerger's had success in Memphis. Donovan's doing well in OKC. You know, all of these big name guys had to start somewhere. JVG was once an assistant in New York who wound up with the job after Riley bailed for Miami and his replacement Nellie quit after half a season.

the rockets received permission to interview him as well. the bullet isn't dodged yet looks like the lakers and rockets both want jvg and are willing to settle for walton. meanwhile the two best coaches, messina and boylen, sit on the sidelines.

Byron would make a great tank commander. Byron realizes there are only 30 of these. No time to be picky. Unfortunately for Byron, the interest is not reciprocal.
LOL, Byron Scott.

I asked Lakers coach Byron Scott about his philosophy on 3-pointers. "I don't believe it wins championships. I haven't heard when Van Gundy will interview with the Rockets, but I have been traveling quite a bit haven't asked anyone that would know. The Rockets will likely drag this thing out for awhile. They are famous for long and involved coaching searches. I won't be shocked if the Rockets touch base with a large number of candidates and give interviews to every serious candidate that is willing to interview. If I hear anything I will let you know.
Regarding the Rockets and the Coaching Interview process, I seem to remember from last time that they mentioned, in addition to just interviewing candidates for the job, they also like to "pick the coach's brains" about NBA strategy. They get a chance to get all of this information to help them make better decisions. Basically a fact finding session. So, it stands to reason they will want to interview lots of candidates for the job, and to get more information in general.
I like Blatt, I really do. The question is, if there is a dispute between Blatt and Harden who does management back? With the whole Le$ is cheap narrative I gotta believe that person is Blatt. Blatt will be successful with a team that doesn't pander to one player, if Houston can pledge to Blatt that they will always back him, then he would be an amazing fit here. If they can't, then send him on his way.
