i think he meant game 1 went to OT so they were that game away from being up 3-0. not that golden state would have not responded down 1-0, just that cleveland could have won the first 3 games.

Can Detroit actually be competitive (again), in this series? Seems like they gave their best shot today, but came up short.

They gave a great close run for Cleveland. It is one of the most entertaining first round series to watch

stan van's comments obviously in lebron's head. of course lebron would let it bother him. he's playing exactly like he does when he's in foul trouble. won't drive, keeps passing right as he starts to drive to un-open shooters. not aggressive at all. it's like he's waiting for the offensive foul like waiting for your 3rd foul when it's the second quarter. he should probably try to show up to this game at some point.

also, mozgov might be playing the worst game of basketball ever. he's so much worse than last year.

i can't imagine how mad stan van gundy will be about that obvious out of bounds on detroit that was called out on cleveland and then clean block on morris that was called a foul, all on the same possession. being so fair-minded and about justice and all as he is.

LeBron usually doesn't force things early in the game and tries to get him teammates involved. I don't think LeBron is being timid.

it doesn't happen often, but when lebron gets in foul trouble or even gets to where the next foul will put him in foul trouble (like having 2 fouls in the 2nd quarter), he plays exactly like he did this quarter.

now given all his assists and extra passes in the first game, maybe it was just getting others involved, but it was too familiar.

how is it that drummond can make baseline hook shots and acrobatic layups and not make a free throw?

unless ty lue plans to teach boxing out on free throws in practice, he needs to stop calling the hack-a-drummond. he's just giving the pistons extra possessions.

Bigger soap opera Lebron's teams or Dwight's?

but a baseline hook shot is a significantly tougher shot than a free throw. there aren't all that many big men who have the footwork (or feetwork), coordination and skill to back a guy down, spin off their body, and then hit a 5 foot baseline hook with any consistency. and the ones that can typically are the ones with the higher big men free throw percentages.

No matter how good Detroit play they won't win this series because LeBron is always guaranteed to get to the eastern conference finals at least.

    RIP Stanley.

I like his toughness, but don't be DeShawn Stevenson 2.0. Get the wins.
    Don't act tough on losses.
