I do, in fact, have eyes. I used those eyes to watch Yao, McGrady, Rondo, Rose, Noah, Deng...all outstanding players.... get put into the Thibs grinder and all had their bodies completely break down well before they should have. I have no doubts the team will perform well under Thibs, but it comes at a cost. Harden, for all his effort faults, has been INCREDIBLY DURABLE, almost superhuman levels of durability, considering his usage and minute load. If we get Thibs, I would expect Hardens career to be cut short.
jb did a fine job considering the dis-functionality of morey and the upper level management. If morey stays, Im done, only an idiot will blame this mess on JB.
Are you watching McHale and JBB do the same with Harden? Thibs can't do worse than that. He also complied with minute limitations on Noah and Butler, even if grudgingly.
YES! Bring in Thibs! Thanks for the 411 Codman! Now the Rockets just have to beat out the Wolves for Thibs' services. That "dual role" aspect that the Wolves could offer, coupled with their young talent will be tough to beat.
My guy who I would like to see <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">NBA coaching sources offered a new name today on what figures to be a long list of possible Kings candidates: Pacers assistant Nate McMillan</p>— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/720672987733569536">April 14, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
It's not about minutes per game. Its about twice a day practices, at 110%. Its about playing guys 45 minutes per game and expecting them to be curling, cutting, rotating, closing out, pressing every play. The human body simply can't take that.
Well seeing as Yao Ming and McGrady had limited injury issues when Thibs was an ASSISTANT with the Rockets, I dont really see how that holds any validity. Rondo had no real injury issues when Thibs was an assistant in Boston either. Deng, Rose and Noah all played their best basketball under Thibs. Rose's injury was not related to excess use. Luol Deng is still playing well over 30 minutes a game, and is productive at 30 years old. He hasn't really seen any effects. Noah has been missing huge amounts of games from early in his career and Thibs played him in the low 30's. Blaming Thibs for Noah's issues is like blaming McHale for Howard's knees. A 31 year old center has knee issues, who would have expected it. Thibs is one of the top 2-3 coaches in the NBA. This idea that he is going to break Harden is odd, considering Harden is leading the league in minutes AGAIN.
Lol, not saying that Morey/management aren't at fault too... But come the **** on, JB couldn't even make a ****ing player rotation worth a ****. Just look at Brewer's minutes and go from there.
Fans can't take the half effort the current Rockets team is giving every night. Let them go and earn their millions! Seriously though, there is a happy medium between the circus we currently run and the neverending boot camp that Thibs held. Hopefully the next coach will realize that.
Exactly Nook! Look, no coach is perfect. But Thibs checks a lot of boxes. And his approach is exactly what the Rockets need right now. You can throw any name out there and "yeah but..." them to death. Thibs has the goods. He is the best available candidate out there.
If you can't recognize the disproportional amount of career affecting major injuries and the sudden unexpected decline of players in Thibs wake, then I don't know what to tell you. This isn't some hair brained conspiracy theory, it is well documented. http://chicago.sbnation.com/chicago...-tom-thibodeau-minutes-derrick-rose-noah-deng http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2014/01/04/blowout-minutes-contributing-to-chicagos-injury-woes/ http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20141201/sports/141209812/ http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bul...ng-report-bulls-ran-luol-deng-into-the-ground
Mark Jackson was 51-31 and lots against the Clippers in the first round 4-3. He took the Warriors into the playoffs the year before, losing in the second round to the Spurs. The Warriors fired him, hired Steve Kerr.
Harden endorses Thibs but you are the one crying like a baby. Don't worry, Thibs won't be coaching your frail mind and body. Give me 2 or 3 championship opportunities instead of 10 more years of half assed futility.

Another reason why it was better to miss the playoffs this year. Not only do you get a pick, but you get out in front of the inevitable coaching search. No doubt the Rockets still are going behind closed doors to communicate with candidates, but still. The Rockets don't have the time to fiddle around while good coaching candidates get solid offers & negotiation power.
