only when James Harden replaces Hakeem at the top of the heap of the reputation points pyramid, and Tinman's status reads "Tinman is James Harden - reputation is pure gold," only then will James Harden enter into the most rarefied realm of Rocket reputation.

    Until then . . .

Hakeem also grabbed a lot of offensive boards and generated fast breaks with steals and blocks

Don't think so. Hardens playoffs 2 years ago was bad and last year's playoffs don't match hakeem's 87-88 where he had like a .650 ts% and almost 30 PPG.

Harden last year may have been the best regular season Rockets offensive season though

Yea, 4 games, 3 of which they lost.

Where he was matched up against the great James Donaldson

Cumulatively, excluding Hakeems last two playoffs, where he was bad.

Harden has been a much more efficient scorer in the playoffs and regular season when compared to Hakeem. I think Harden is a better offensive player than hakeem. However defensively Hakeem blows harden away.

    Numbers, stats, efficiency, blah blah

Harden has yet to carry a team on his back offensively to a ring.

Dream did it while at the same time playing ALL WORLD defense.

Harden probably has more weapons than Dream does on O simply because that is the nature of the position he plays, but there is no way in hell that Harden is better than Dream on offense, especially considering that Harden only plays half the game most of the time. Harden will have "better" offensive games when he is hitting his shot, but Dream was far more consistent from game to game than Harden has ever shown to be IMO. And then there is DEFENSE.

Game has evolved...Harden can get way more points from 3s and FTs than Hakeem could even imagine back then.

Harden's offensive games have always been impressive, it is his defense and leadership skills that is limiting him from being on the same level as Hakeem.

Hakeem played in a weak era of basketball. He would have a Greg Monroe career in this era.

Look at some of posts here.

I doubt Rockets deserve to own James Harden...

Harden takes a beating to get those. Then again half the time the opponent beats him up and gets away with it anyways.
