it's sad that he's at this point, skill-wise. But do you think Andre gets signed first, or James Jones (who was pretty terrible himself over the last 8 games of the season, even with Jordy and Cobb suffering injuries--and with Rodgers throwing to him)? I feel like they're both #4 level WRs who won't help you on special teams.. I'd rather take a flyer on an undrafted WR than either of them, honestly
Wait a second... is this a master troll post? Or is he showing respect? The caption sounds awfully troll-ish........ If trolling, it might shed better light on the situation, if DHop found Andre's mentoring lacking...
Perhaps the wrong thread but whatever... Why is Calvin a "sure-fire, no doubt, no questions asked" HOF but Andre is "ehhh we don't know. It's iffy." Peak dominance. At his peak, Calvin Johnson was one of the three most dominant receivers in history. Andre was never in that type of sphere.
I bet Peyton is mad though. He only got one day for the whole world to shine his shoes and kiss his rings. Now, no one is talking about him lol
Generally, WRs are "ehhh we don't know. It's iffy" when it comes to the HoF. They have to be fairly transcendent. AJ is more Chris Carter/Tim Brown/James Lofton than Jerry Rice/Randy Moss/Calvin Johnson. Calvin played in 50 fewer games; here are what his numbers would look like if he had also totaled 185 games: 999/15,928 (15.9); 114 TDs AJ's: 1053/14,100 (13.4); 68 TDs Now, he didn't play 50 more games - I'm just demonstrating how much more CJ did in fewer games. He was such a beast, my goodness...
I think AJ will get in, eventually. He was seen as a character guy for being loyal to the Texans. And each franchise needs to eventually get someone in. JJ will of course be the second.
Then he'd have less targets because better QB's wouldn't force it to someone who wasn't open as often as the garbage the Texans ran out at QB for most of AJ's career.
If Calvin Johnson had Stafford throwing to him his entire career... I mean, are you serious? He spent an entire 0-16 season with Dan Orlovsky as his QB........ (And... psst: prime Matt Schaub > Matthew Stafford. It's true.)
overall targets sure. but the quality targets / catchable balls would prob go up because you would have a QB that could actually get the ball down the field (deep) with accuracy meaning more yards and prob more TDs.
Choose your pupu platter. Spoiler Matthew Stafford(56) Shaun Hill(8) Dan Orlovsky(7) Jon Kitna(5) Daunte Culpepper (4) Drew Stanton(2) J.T. O'Sullivan(1) Matt Schaub(32) David Carr(13) Sage Rosenfels(8) Case Keenum(6) Tony Banks(3) Ryan Fitzpatrick(2) Matt Hasselbeck(2) Ryan Lindley(1) Andrew Luck(1)
Five years; between 2008-2012, Schaub posted a 94 QB rating with a 7.9 YPA and 105 TDs. And he was pretty good in 2007, too - but that year and 2008 and then again in 2011, he was unfortunately hurt.
