ok since you all insist on debating on MCW here is his breakdown :

He is an extremely turnover prone wing who masquarades as pg. Can't run an offence or shoot but is good at getting to the basket. He's not a good passer and has bad handles and no fill for the game. But he's a great defender who can switch 1-3 and block and rebound.

His best role for the future is off the bench.

I would LOVE it if the Rockets got to pawn Jones off on Milwaukee, Malakas is a Bucks fan and she's been overly high on him all season. I'd love to see how long that lasts with him sucking it up for the Bucks.

I actually agree with this. Keep in mind people that Ty Lawson is a real threat to get WAIVED here in March if he's not traded. MCW back for him in a deal, while not an ideal fit, it still somewhat of an asset back.

The Rockets gave up either a late 1st or two future second rounders (if they miss the playoffs) for Lawson.

So the question really is... if MCW was on the open market today, would he fetch more than a late 1st or 2 seconds???... I Dunno but probably two second rounders you'd think. Also if someone like Mayo is attached for Salary Filler would the Rockets give up 2 second rounders for a short term rental who fits a need? Keep in mind they gave up 2 second rounders EACH for Brewer & Prigioni.

IF this deal was to go down as is (and that's a big IF), the Rockets would be recouping an asset while probably getting a very usable shooter/scorer in Mayo as a short term rental (something the Rockets have been out there in the open looking for mind you). Two birds with one stone that you were about to cut anyways.

Only way I'm interested in MCW is part of a 3 team deal essentially where we are taking back MCW, Milwaulkee is getting Lawson and we are getting say, Ryan Anderson.

Something like this with picks obviously needed to sort it out, maybe swapping TJones for someone else or something.

He could also match up well with Livingston

Would feel a little like the Thomas Robinson/T-will deals, taking a chance on someone young with potential. I think it would also serve to shake up some of the role players (aka chemistry dynamic) by brining in Mayo, etc...and we'd probably see Brewer and/or Jones shipped out separately if not in this deal.

The team he was on nearly beat the Warriors twice.

    They're doing something right.

Remember, we had the real thing; but Morey decided to keep Scott Machado (IIRC; if not, please correct me).

Well I'm not mad at this trade. MCW is a big creating pg that can run pick & roll while Harden spots up. It takes pressure off James and brings in another ball handler. Plus his size allows him to guard 3 positions. The only thing is he can't shoot, which could hurt us. But I ain't mad at the thought of this

meh, Livingston didn't do himself any favors that summer here. Machado played a lot better than him.

Knowing Morey he prob said he'd throw Jones and some filler in for Henson(would be a Morey-esque trade)

IIRC Livingston was also on a non-guaranteed deal and waiving him saved a few million

MCW reminds me ALOT of our boy Chandler Bang but about 2 inches shorter. He's really a SF they tried to make a PG, and his shot is a horror.

But his game is very similar to Parsons IMO. Bring him off the bench as a 2/3 and I think he'll have more success. He's just got to get off the ball as a secondary creator. You can switch him on 1's & 2's and he can play in the full court.

If you wouldn't take a flyer on him at this point I don't know what to tell you. Its not like on this team he's the starter you are putting your franchise in the hands of or anything. He's a flyer you are getting for free.

OJ Mayo (assuming he's involved) would be your primary target and would play a bigger role this year.

OJ is a nice fit next to Harden.
