Because no matter how hard you wish for it, Cleveland isn't going to trade it's 27 year old star caliber player for a 30 year old guy on an expiring contract who could leave this summer. Especially when they already have like 5 bigs on the team.

    Houston receives
    David Lee
    Jonas Jerebko
    2016 Boston first-round pick
    2016 Dallas first-round pick

    Boston receives
    Dwight Howard
    Montrezl Harrell

Although this trade could knock Houston out of the playoff race, the Rockets would be able to add two first-round picks, as well as their own first if they miss the playoffs. The Rockets currently have the 13th pick in this year's draft and will send it to Denver if they make the playoffs. With Lee’s expiring contract and Jerebko’s non-guaranteed salary for 2016-17, the Rockets could have close to $27 million in cap space. Good enough for a max salary in free agency.

If you're going to blow it up, this is the way to do it. We get back two scrubs, release them after the season, try to sign Durant and have 3 first round draft picks. You can change the team in a hurry doing something like this. As much as it would suck for the rest of this season, going forward this might be our best bet.

Shaq actually had about 15 nicknames. But who really cares about that. Does Kenny 'the Jet' Smith get his nickers in a twist about Jason Eugene Terry being called 'the Jet'?
The other reasons are also quite petty.
But Shaq thinking DH needs to average 25 & 15 to be respected is also ridiculous (especially as Shaq never averaged that himself).

What are we going to do with 3 non-lottery first round picks? The way Morey drafts, we'd be lucky to find one rotation player out of those three picks.
And why the hell would KD come to a gutted lottery team?

As stated in the article above, the choice is limited. I don't think Morey can find a suitable partner for Dwight this deadline. If morey got desperate this could be the first trade where morey trade high value for lower value.

Taking a flyer as in...? I wouldn't pay him a dime more than he's making now based on the injury history.

Besides Portions, name another "good" player he's drafted.

If those bad 1st round picks is the best we can get, I prefer keep DH and see what happen

Dwight is actually worse when he isn't sharing the floor with Harden. Harden produces close to the same with Howard on the floor as he does when he's off. Not a huge difference either way.

As facts aren't usually a high priority to you
    , I won't bother posting the numbers.

One of them would be a lottery pick. Who knows what you might get out of the other two. You also free up cap space for a max contract. Durant might want to come to Houston and play with Harden, who knows?

Or you could do nothing, not get two extra first round picks, and maybe miss the playoffs. Even if you don't miss the playoffs, do you really think this team is going to do anything?

    Nope. Blow it up!

I wouldn't trade Dwight you might as well let his salary come off the books. Plus who ever you do trade him for is not going to fit here. Every body is down on Ty Lawson but to me nobody will ever be able to play with Harden. He's just going to iso all day long. Nobody will ever be implemented into this offense.

What offense? What we need to do is trade Howard for legit players (Love, Anderson, etc.) AND hire a new coach. Until we get a coach that can bring some kind of winning culture to Houston, we're not getting any better.

I don't really undertand this line of thinking that nobody can prosper playing with harden.

Dmo had a career year with harden last season parsons 2 years ago had his best season also as a major piece.

The offense was top 5 hardens first two years here as the guy. What changed now that ppl just omit this fact.

Last season without harden on the court we were -17 points. That's drastic and actually worse that the 76rs.

The probelm is when guys get the ball off a swing play all they no how to do is jack up a 3. If we swapped out ariza for instance with somebody who could put the ball on the floor off the catch with a scrambling defense and get in the paint and make a play for himslef or others then we would be just fine on that end of The floor. Parsons did it all the time his last year here and the rockets from and advanced numbers standpoint actually had a championship offesne and point differential.

We're missing that piece bad howard was never going to be that guy but he could help a lot of we still had parsons or somone like him.

We don't need a pg to take the ball out of hardens hands we need a guy who can make somthing happen at the hoop for himself or others when the defense sucks to harden as it often does.

Ariza tries but it's just ugly watching him attack the paint force terrible lay up attempts or make bad passes at our cutters feet.

You might be able to get a good trade for Howard, but the fact is that the Rockets will not get any better until they hire a head coach that knows what he is doing with his rotations, that has a cohesive and solid offensive scheme (one that does not depend simply on Harden ISOs), and most importantly a coach that can fix their defensive issues.
