Great job by JBB to bench the starters for their lackadasical play last night.

Far too often this team comes out lazy, like they will turn it on later and pull it out.

Last night down 15-5 - JBB yanked his entire starting lineup.

And Harden could not believe it, he stood there looking perplexed....like he should not be pulled, it took him about 30 seconds to leave the court then was like "WT heck?" to JBB....

More of this please, if the team is not going to come out, protect the ball and respect playing hard, let them sit.

They were NOTICEABLY different when they came back in at the start of the 2nd quarter.

Good job JBB - hold them accountable.

    Probably saved the game.

They were even down 20-5 at one point

Yup. A rare great move by JB. If it happens again, bench them again.

Not rare but a good coaching decision by JB once again

Loved it! And funny how it's been swept under the rug a bit. How does Harden's reaction not upset people?

Let's not jump at conclusions at Junior's inability to manage this team.

PS this must be a very difficult group to manage.

PPS He doesn't always play well but I believe TA comes to play all day every day. Mr Accountable, imo.

It was a good move. I would much rather lose a game with bench players who try hard than lose with a bunch of starters who don't hustle. This group deserve zero benefit of the doubt that they would all of a sudden turn it on during a game. You need to resort to drastic measures in order to hope that this team might respond.

Also I think JB has done a good job considering the circumstances. He got a crappy hand for sure. A team that is uncoachable, with flawed leaders, with effort issues, and high expectations in a disappointing season. This is a disastrous combo, the opposite of a situation that as a young coach you want to come into.

Agreed. This team is about as entitled and uncoachable as it gets. Sounds like they keep coming back to the buffet for second helpings of humble pie. Never full.

I hope he continues to do it if the starters come out half assed. Needed to do it much earlier in the season but I was glad to see him finally implement some accountability. That's what a team like the Rox need. The two best players on this team are bad leaders and this team has needed a shift from the easy going, laid back culture.

It's tricky situation. For a young and unestablished coach as he is, he will lose the battle against star players if they decide to turn their back on him.

Harden showed so much poor leadership when that happened. Even the Suns commentators said something about it.

Great move - that kind of thing needs to happen frequently for these guys to get that you need to bring your full intensity to every single game

    Message sent.

Play defense, play off the ball, body movement, ball movement, or go to the bench.

I think the starting unit got benched mainly due to Harden.

Jb didn't want to single out Harden and benched the whole starting unit instead.

McHale would never have the balls to do something like that

JB I feel would gain more respect if he gave more accountability especially to players like Harden and Howard. A lot of times it can be a morality boost if the coach is holding the star players more accountable. Look at the issues in Cleveland. The players were losing respect for Blatt not really holding Lebron accountable for anything. When the star players can get away with everything and the other players get quick hooks, that's a moral killer. This move possible gave JB more credit in the locker room.
