A lot of times they'll say that leading the league in INTs sometimes means you aren't very good. They keep throwing at you and you happened to catch a few. I'm not saying he's not good but he's not in the conversation. The only issue for Watt winning a 3rd is voter fatigue. Otherwise, he's the most deserving and clearly the best defensive player in the league.
Who says that? It takes tremendous instincts and athleticism to play corner - especially so, if you're leading the league in INTs. If you were a coach, and the opposing team has a corner who leads the league in INTs, would you disregard that player as "not very good," and keep throwing his way? No. Your passing gameplan would highlight that guy.
No one is saying Peters isn't very good but usually the best CBs don't lead the league in interceptions. Usually because they don't get thrown to as much. For instance, Kareem Jackson has more interceptions than Jonathan Joseph. Does that mean Kareem is better?
Doesn't mean Kareem is bad, though. My point is, just because you lead the league in INTs doesn't mean you're "not very good," as leroy said. I didn't say anything about the correlation between # of INTs and how good a CB is.
You're right. Marcus Peters is a good CB. Very good. That was definitely a good pick by the Chiefs. It's early but I prefer him to Kevin Johnson who the Texans picked before. I wouldn't call him the best CB or DPOY material though.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. According to Sean Jones on his new show on 790 JJ just out works everyone else. He's nowhere close to LT or Reggie White. According to SJ.
So in White's best 3 years, '86-88, opponents threw the ball 532, 561 and 578 times (1671 att) and he had 57 sacks (his teammates had 95). So that's 1 sack per 31.9 dropbacks. Watt's best 3 years so far, '12, 14-15) he had 58.5 sacks in 1880 dropbacks (1753 attempts and 127 sacks), 1 per 32.1 dropbacks. Virtually identical, thought that was interesting. I would have guessed there was a bigger disparity in pass attempts.
It sure as heck was intriguing and its probably a testament to how hard he works...that coaches want to expand his role even more. Also having Clowney and Mercilus at the ends and having JJ have a running start at a linemen...terrifying scenario...
Eh. He's already so quick off the LOS that I don't think a running start would make him any quicker. It actually might slow him down, believe it or not - which is a testament to his incredible speed off the LOS.
