Bring Scotty Brooks back home TODAY, as our new COACH and unite Harden and Durant next year. We need a whole new coaching staff Defense and Offense
That IS the end of it. But, even if Brooks hadn't already rejected us, Durant's not going to come to a cluster**** of a team like us just because Harden and his former coach are here. Hell, Harden's probably secretly looking for his first chance to get out of here. Durants's going to look for the team that can most likely give him the championship he hasn't won yet. Every single team will court him, and he will choose the team with the best chance for a ring. That is most certainly not us. I wish this tag would sink in throughout Clutchfans: /durantdiscussion
After 25 + years as a Rockets fan. If they sign Brooks I'm done, I'm finished. Morey has done an excellent job EXCEPT when it comes to our coaching staff. Brooks is an awful coach and I wouldn't be surprised with Moreys head coach track record that he would indeed hire him It sucks to know you have a GM with the talent to load your team up with the talent to win it all and he blows it by assigning the team inept leadership and coaching
If Durant wanted to be coached by Brooks, Brooks would still be coaching in OKC. Durant is resigning with OKC for 1 year and then leaves after that 1 year with Westbrook.
Somehow, in your mind, a roster with the talent to win it all and leadership are mutually exclusive variables supplied by players and coaches, respectively? To me, the talent to win it all as a player is independent of the circumstances around them - be they coaches, front office, or teammates. Not saying they win every year despite those things, but the talent to be skilled and driven enough to have the will to win is independent of them. I think we lack championship talent, but have enough talent to be massively disappointed in the results this year.
No. No No No No No No No. Brooks is a bad coach. He is a younger shorter McHale with a worse personality (hey, McHale may not be much of a coach, but he seems like a pretty cool guy). No OP. No Brooks. No.
as a fan, i dont want him to be the hc. idk why. sometimes i wonder if his disinterest of being the rockets hc has sth. to do w/ harden.
Do you guys remember our offense under JVG? When he had Yao and Tracy, both better offensive players than our current duo...?
Yes... lets hire the most Kevin McHale-like coach available in the NBA because that will make a difference. Brooks might be more McHale-like than McHale actually is honestly. I'm not saying Brooks is a bad coach, but he is a certain type of coach who is good in a certain situation. I think the days of relying on a "players coach" to touch this group and get them to actually... ugh.. play hard are overwith, but then again this particular group's day together might be overwith very soon if they don't turn it around. No doubt in my mind that Morey is already planning contingencies for MAJOR player transactions to come down the pipe if they continue to struggle so maybe a McHale-like coach will be what that particular team needs to succeed at that time. Right now with this team, we probably need to go in the opposite direction if McHale really had trouble getting to this team.
What a horrible idea. And what makes it extra horrible is the cybrex rumors actually say taht Le$ considered it -- to help us get Durant. I still don't understand that logic. What a moron of an owner we have when it comes to handling his coaches.
