The 4th Round begins tonight.... Group 1 Canada vs Honduras Mexico vs El Salvador Group 2 Jamaica vs Panama Costa Rica vs Haiti Group 3 USA vs. St. Vincent Guatemala vs. Trinidad Top 2 from each group go through to the Final Round. Group 2 should be the most interesting. Costa Rica should make it through rather easily but the fight for 2nd will be tough. Based on Gold Cup results, Jamaica should take it but Haiti is more talented than they're given credit for and Panama always puts up a good fight. In Group 1...If Canada can get past Honduras, I think they have a legit shot to get to the final round. Or, maybe they'll just be Canada. The only other question will be how Mexico gels with their new coach. Otherwise, they should be through with little excitement. In Group 3...In theory, the US should get through easily. Road games at Trinidad and Guatemala will be tough but winnable for a team that isn't playing as s***ty has they have been. Anything less than a dominating win by multiple goals tonight will be considered a disappointment and make everyone wonder even more what has happened. Based on recent play, I'm legitimately concerned about getting out of this group and if we're going to qualify for Russia right now. However, if we're sitting on 6 points after Tuesday, I'll feel much better.
I agree but St. Vincent is by faaaaaaar the weakest team of the 12. I hope Nagbe gets a start tonight and we win by goals on goals on goals. Now next Tuesday @ Trinidad ill be expecting a loss but be super excited if they could squeak by with a point. El Salvador is the sleeper team from group A. It is tough to play there so the teams that get road points there will get the upper hand. Canada vs. Honduras should be interesting (Canada seems to be getting a little improvement while Honduras had a bad Gold Cup). Group B I think should be Costa Rica and Jamaica but Haiti and Panama are never an easy out.
Good luck to everyone. Top 6 in my opinion after the thirty six games: Mexico, Honduras, Haiti, Costa Rica, USA, Trinidad
Good goal from Altidore (even though I could have gotten that goal) If Jozy can complete a pass I'll concede.
lol... Was a nice pass to Zardes...though his touch and movement for most of the game was not good. In the end, it finished how it should. Just disappointing, again, that they come out so flat and end up playing from behind. St. Vincent clearly doesn't have the ability to even hunker down and prevent goals. But a marginally better team will. If they give up an early goal to Trinidad, they're going to have a heck of a more difficult time coming back. Looks like just about all of the results played out as they should've. Even Canada got a win. Congrats to them...
