We don't play any real contenders in our next 20 games

It's a good time to secure a top position in the Western Conference. Those Memphis games could be tough, but there's only 2 of them.

don't take anything for granted but time to start banking some wins. we are absolutely a top four team in the west. dubs, us, spurs, clips. just because we don't have some fancy system doesn't mean anything. winning last night--which was essentially a match-up between LAC bigs and dwight--was huge. this is a time for lawson to really blend into the offense here. it's about to be fun, boys. strap in.

 

Realizing Howard will be out for 6 games I'm not so sure about 15-5 anymore.

We all know Howard and McHale want him to be playing everygame and as many minutes necessary to win. But the health staff and management won't allow that for the greater good (Howard's health and longevity for the Rockets).

 

Detroit is gonna be VERY tough with how well they've been playing.

 

We are 0-3 to start the season.

My request to the team is simple:

Please make it a 24-game winning streak at the end of it.

 

Regardless of W-L, we should go into every game with a certain expectation about the level of play our team should sustain.

Beating the Magic in OT, or the Kings by five without Cousins, should not be considered wins by the Rockets. As JVG said, you should not overlook in victory that which you would have focused on in defeat. This team needs to maintain a certain level of play regardless of the opponent.

A blowout needs to be demanded against the upcoming Nets. This is the Golden State mentality, and it needs to be ours too if we want to reach their level.

 

There's definitely a lot of work still to be done. But if you wanna look at the bright side, they're 4-1 since that awful start. Dwight didn't play in the lone loss. They're still not getting anything out of Brewer. They've been without either of their top 2 PFs. Bev's missed a couple games. And Ty Lawson's still trying to adjust to his new teammates.

In other words, there's a lot of improvement still to be made by this group and thankfully they have a very easy schedule between now and X-Mas in which to do so. If everything goes well, they'll be in a groove by the time they face the Spurs on Dec. 25 and hopefully that carries over into the new year.

Basically, they are the Spurs without an endless supply of young guys taking over and without a team passing game. They may have enough to right the ship this season, but they need something external to keep it up much longer.

20-0 on paper, but more likely around 17-3.
